Hotel Volney Opera

Reception staff are rude and impatient. They exhibited lack of professionalism and engaged in an altercation with me when I tried to ask questions about extending my stay by a couple more days. They actually told me to go somewhere else. They claimed that my card did not work for enable a preauthorization and that I had paid a low rate. When I suggested to swipe or give them cash, the lady receptionist did not want to do it. She kept saying we could try later. When the male receptionist came on the shift later in the day, he said I needed to pay cash and that they were fully booked and could not give me two more days before my departure as my schedule had changed. Even if they think they are fully booked, it is only because of the location and that people need somewhere to stay. Nothing professional in their conduct. I was booked for only one more extra night instead of the two that I had requested for the 17th of July. How unfortunate that I had to stand up for myself as they tried to make me feel unwelcome for them to even consider giving me an extra night upon my return from Italy. They need to calm down.

Good breakfast. Newly renovated rooms. Clean and nice. Close to centrum. Friendly staff. The hotel is located on a quiet street.

Great place. Central to most places of you don't mind walking. We came for a concert at l'olympia and it was perfect. There are lots of nice places to eat

As we spent most of out time with discovering the city, this hotel was a great choice because of the excellent and central location. The staff was nice, the room was clean and comfortable, however, the design of the hotel is a little outdated and the view from our room wasn’t the best, either. In general, we were satisfied with our choice, especially that it had a great price compared to other places with this kind of location. Thank you!
