Hotel Richmond Gare du Nord

Good location and good staff

Closing the Gare de Nord is comfortable, but in my opinion families with children must be in same floor not with single persons

If you look at the price, it is perfect. Its close to metro and train, rooms as totalt fine.. they forgot to clean a couple of days, it got sorted.. its not a 5 star hotel... Its a absolutely decent room that is super central and cheap. I would stay here again

Vibrant neighborhood; many varied dining choices; convenient for public transportation; reasonable rate; beds comfortable and room, though tiny (as is perhaps to be expected in Paris), was warm and well-appointed. Immediately outside the property it constantly smelled of urine and litter was often present - I imagine it's an endless battle being across from the train station, but no effort at all seemed to be made. Lobby and elevator often reeked, too. Room was not ready for us when we arrived, despite being over an hour beyond check-in. Front desk was not aware of the situation till we mentioned it. ("My computer says it was cleaned", the guy at the desk said, clearly not about to take responsibility.) We had to leave and wander around for an hour after our ten hour overnight flight before we could unwind in our room. The shower was door-less and the drain extremely slow, so we had to continually turn off the water and wait or the entire room flooded. Twice when we returned the door was locked and we had to knock and wait before gaining entry, and room turn-around sometimes wasn't completed yet though we were returning to it late in the afternoon. Bottom line is that they seem to be understaffed, but once you get into your clean room it's comfortable, and it's great to be right next to Gare du Nord metro station.

Was given a room with a window about one metre wide and one and half metres high, overlooking a beautiful wall two or three metres away. Went back down to tell the male receptionist that I had booked a room with city view. He told me that I was paying so little and city view rooms were a lot more expensive!!! I showed him my ******* reservation. I then proceeded to explain how hotels will give certain travel agents special rates which will enable them to fill vacant rooms during quiet times, thus assisting to increase their occupancy rates, which sometimes will decrease their average rate but overtime will increase their overall revenue. Not sure he was convinced!!!

Hotel was clean, thanks God no bedbugs. Air Conditioner was not cooling enough. Staff are not friendly. Convenient location in front of Train stations and Metro.
