Hotel Richmond Gare du Nord

This was an incredibly disappointing and frustrating experience. I had originally booked a room at the "Hotel Richmond Gare du Nord." However, upon our arrival for check-in, the front desk informed us, without providing any reason, that they had moved our reservation to a different hotel, the "New Hôtel Gare du Nord." Being unfamiliar with Paris, we had no choice but to comply. At the "New Hôtel Gare du Nord," we waited for over 15 minutes while the front desk staff struggled to find our reservation and assign us a room. The room we were ultimately given was a far cry from what we had booked. 1. A Room Like a Prison Cell: The room was completely devoid of windows, resembling a jail cell. (Please see the photos from our original booking for comparison). 2. Significantly Smaller and Lacking Amenities: The room was much smaller than advertised and had no balcony, which was supposed to be included in our original reservation. 3. Foul Odor: A terrible, noxious smell emanated from the air conditioning unit whenever it was turned on. 4. Insect Infestation: The room was infested with insects, which was absolutely appalling. It appears that both hotels are managed by the same operator, who seems to employ a bait-and-switch tactic: luring guests with the promise of a better room at a higher price, only to place them in substandard accommodations. I strongly advise travelers from all over the world to avoid this deceptive hotel at all costs. Esta fue una experiencia increíblemente decepcionante y frustrante. Originalmente había reservado una habitación en el "Hotel Richmond Gare du Nord". Sin embargo, al llegar para hacer el check-in, el personal de recepción nos informó, sin dar ninguna razón, que habían trasladado nuestra reserva a un hotel diferente, el "New Hôtel Gare du Nord". Al no estar familiarizados con París, no tuvimos más remedio que aceptar. En el "New Hôtel Gare du Nord", esperamos más de 15 minutos mientras el personal de recepción luchaba por encontrar nuestra reserva y asignarnos una habitación. La habitación que finalmente nos dieron distaba mucho de lo que habíamos reservado. 1. Una habitación como una celda de prisión: La habitación carecía por completo de ventanas, pareciendo una celda de cárcel. (Por favor, vea las fotos de nuestra reserva original para comparar). 2. Significativamente más pequeña y sin las comodidades prometidas: La habitación era mucho más pequeña de lo anunciado y no tenía balcón, que se suponía que estaba incluido en nuestra reserva original. 3. Olor fétido: Un olor terrible y nocivo emanaba del aire acondicionado cada vez que se encendía. 4. Infestación de insectos: La habitación estaba infestada de insectos, lo cual fue absolutamente espantoso. Parece que ambos hoteles son gestionados por el mismo operador, que parece emplear una táctica de "cebo y cambio": atraer a los huéspedes con la promesa de una habitación mejor a un precio más alto, solo para alojarlos en alojamientos de calidad inferior. The hotel is just in front of the station Gare du nord.Very easy and convenient to go anywhere to Eiffel tower,Louvre museum,and others from here either by bus,metro,Eurostar.U won't get lost.Just the lift for the hotel is a bit small.It can accommodate u and 2 big luggage one time.There is KFC beside the hotel and other cafes.The carrefour is behind the hotel.So u can shop some groceries or snacks also.

Fantastic location, right in front of Gare du nord. Slight issue was breakfast was in another location, had to walk a few metres to another hotel.

Sound proofing of the room was terrible. Location was convenient, right in front of the train station. The air conditioning in the room was not so great.

The Richmond is a cute little hotel situated directly across the road from Gare du Nord station. We were warmly welcomed and were given access to our room ahead of schedule. The room was simple but we didn't need anything more as we only slept there. I can highly recommend The Richmond.

The location of the hotel is strategically located opposite the Gard du Nord. There are few restaurants nearby. The hotel is clean but the floor is sa bit sinking. The transportation to the airport is actually a shuttle van whereby the driver will pick up few people before departing to airport, hence need to locate more buffer time if were to take the service. There is no fridge in the hotel and the hot water boiler is downstairs.

The location is excellent. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. There could have been a bottle of water in the room. There are many cafés nearby. The best hotel if it’s important to be close to the train station.
