Property was very clean and is certainly “a step back in time” as it was built in 1910.

We stayed in this quaint old building in a large suite fitted out with an eclectic mixture of furnishings. The suite was comfortable and clean, the bed was excellent and the host welcoming. The kitchen, while dated, had everything needed and the breakfast was very adequate.

We had the apartment called The Chapel. The entrance to it was from the backyard up a flight of 20 odd timber stairs. The main room of this apartment was very large and was just acceptable, but the kitchen and bathroom were very old and tired, and freezing cold. We had to light the gas stove to keep warm. The bathroom was barely functional. The breakfast was in the fridge but we were too cold to bother trying to cook it so we went elsewhere were we could have a breakfast in a warm setting. If we knew what we were getting we would have gone elsewhere.

We liked the old world charm, the hospitality of Colin the host, all the utensils and appliances provided, the comfortable furniture and decor, the big desk, the fireplace and the location was quiet but close to the centre of town.

This is a grand old building with several different apartments. It is close to the town centre. The whole set up looks tired but it is comfortable and well provisioned. The apartments are large. I would not say it was worth the money. Parking is on the street and there are several steps to the front verandah and lots more if you are staying in the chapel.

Beautiful building from 1923. High ceilings, beautiful furniture, so you could get an idea what this building was like in its heyday-but everything provided for a comfortable stay. Very well-stocked kitchen with everything that you might want to eat for breakfast. Aircon, so cool – or warm which I needed when the weather suddenly turned cold. I had the downstairs suite -Music room, kitchen dining area, lovely bedroom, Cozy sitting room with a (gas)fireplace. Opened out to the garden. Easy walk to local restaurants.
