Great
GGuest UserWe had a wonderful stay at PARKROYAL Penang Resort! The resort is beautifully maintained, with direct beach access, spacious and comfortable rooms, and excellent facilities for both adults and children. The breakfast buffet offered a wide variety of delicious options, and the pool area was clean, relaxing, and perfect for families.
GGuest UserThe room was beautifully vintage and spacious, leaving an amazing first impression. However, on the first night, the sheets had stains as pictured, and after reporting it, they were changed the next day. On the morning of the third day, I found what looked like mouse droppings on the balcony floor (pictured in image 4). I recognized them because I used to own hamsters; otherwise, I wouldn't have thought it. But the hotel denied it was mouse droppings, suggesting it might be bird droppings, as they had just disinfected a few days prior. Additionally, at breakfast, a middle-aged female server roughly cleared our plates without asking, making a lot of noise. This contrasted sharply with another younger, seemingly Indian male server who was smiling and polite when offering service. The hotel's response to these issues was just an apology and cleaning the balcony, which felt very perfunctory.
GGuest UserThe hotel's location is great. During my three-day stay, I could easily walk to Mural Street every day, and enjoy durian and highly-rated restaurants at my leisure. There's also a shopping mall nearby with a supermarket, Watsons, and an ATM for currency exchange. The weekend art market is also within easy walking distance.
The hotel breakfast was good. Each day, there was a local specialty dish prepared outside the lobby that you could go and pick up yourself, along with freshly squeezed juice. There's also a piano in the lobby on the first floor, with performances in the evenings.
了了了-ZHUOOverall, it's decent for the price. However, there's a noticeable difference between the OZO in Phuket and this OZO in Penang. The location is in George Town, but on the northern side near the sea, meaning it's over 1km away from most major attractions, restaurants, and durian shops.
The staff weren't as friendly as in Phuket; checking in felt like doing business at a government office. We booked three deluxe twin rooms, but they were assigned to two different floors.
The hotel has nowhere to dry clothes, and even the hangers are semi-fixed in the wardrobe.
At night, you can hear music playing, which affected our sleep (especially the bass).
Since we had a child, we requested an extra bed, but the extra bed didn't come with a proper duvet, only a very thin blanket.
ZZuileThe hotel staff were incredibly dedicated and responsive to all our requests. The room was clean and tidy. The beach behind the hotel is a bit small, but it's shared with the neighboring hotels, so you can walk along it, and the scenery is still beautiful. However, the hotel's internal landscaping is fantastic. It's definitely worth another visit.
AAngelo_007This hotel is an excellent introduction to Penang as it was for me on my first day in town exploring and getting to know the main city area. Close to downtown center the hotel provides an ideal location for explorers who want to be close to all the major sites Penang has to offer. In the immediate area is George Town with venues including the Clan Jetties, UNESCO heritage sites, Armenian Street and a vast array of street art all worth stopping to visit.
The hotel itself is clean and tidy with helpful and friendly staff who went out of their way to help accommodate me upon my early arrival (holding my luggage until check in time). The room was comfortable and for amenities there was an onsite laundry room that helped ensured traveler like me had the opportunity to refresh their baggage for the next adventures ahead.
As a heads up to future travelers: the hotel is located near some stunning mosques that although were great to visit, do have prayer sessions throughout the day and night which all hotel travelers can clearly hear in their rooms. Not recommended for light sleepers or anyone who minds the sound. Overall the hotel was a great place to start my Penang stay and exploration.
GGuest UserThe place it self was great, the cleanliness was very good and the service was excellent. The only downside we had was the neighbours upstairs kept making loud noises through out our stay, however credit to the agents they replied back to us promptly when we brought this up and had notified their landlord. Unfortunately this didn’t still resolve the loud noises.
The building it self is nice, the pool is clean and well maintained, however the building does have a lot of regulations in place which we thought was quite excessive. Other than these minor issues we had a great time and the apartment is well kept.
RRayTFirst of all the hotel rented out the rooms for individual operator.
So there will be different check in counter.
Upon check in, been told that the room card not functioning as they are doing upgrading, so every time u come back will need to call the house keeping to unlock the door.
Most importantly they charge RM 17 per night for car parking. So a lot of car parking outside which make the entrance a bit difficult
