The hotel is in a great location, and it is beautiful, comfortable, and clean. Everyone working at the hotel is incredible: so nice, attentive and lovely. The food was also delicious! I had a wonderful stay here and would highly recommend it
Nirvana Inn

We stayed on the top floor of the hotel. Our room was spacious and provided amazing views of the snow capped mountains from the windows on the two sides of the room. All the Staff were very courteous and super responsive and helpful. We had opted for Breakfast and Dinner. The hotel serves vegetarian food primarily and the food was served fresh and was very tasty too. The location of the hotel is a plus as you can just get down and walk around the town without any dependency on your driver or taxis. The market and good restaurants like the Mountain Cafe are just a 1-2 minute walk away.
Naksel Boutique Hotel & Spa
4.6/516 Reviews
I was in Bhutan for 10 days and wanted to finish the trip with a better hotel near the Tigers Nest and that is why I selected the Naksel. This was my choice rather than the suggested hotel from the guide. I’m not quite sure how it gets its 4* star rating or what quite qualifies it to call itself luxury and boutique. It reminds me of 1970s ski lodges with a lot of pine and it does have that old-fashioned feel about it. We were greeted with a lukewarm drink upon arrival and I was disappointed to find that the security lock to the bedroom was broken and that the room safe opened with a standard default number. That means anyone could open your safe if they had access to your room. The double bed in the bedroom was very small despite having adequate room for a larger one. The toiletries in the bathroom were of a budget quality and certainly didn’t reflect what the hotel was trying to achieve. The pillows on the bed were of a cheap foam and not particularly comfortable. There was only one toilet roll in the bathroom which ran out. The bar area was pleasant with a nice terrace outside with good views, however there were no cushions or blankets on any of the chairs. You would struggle to sit out there in the cool weather. There was also a nice room on the terrace with a log burner but it was hopeless trying to use it as the fire was never lit. There also no fresh flowers anywhere or complementary fruit etc which is unusual for a hotel that calls its self 4* star and luxury. The nuts that were served with my apéritif prior to dinner were the standard that you would probably feed your hamster. This was the only place in my 10 day trip where all the prices were quoted in US dollars which is strange for a country that wants to maintain its own identity. It was also adds another 10% service and 10% tax to all bills. It called itself a spa but the spa was slightly away from the hotel and nothing was included in the room rate. Usually a steam room or sauna would be included in your price. The restaurant was alright but unfortunately breakfast finished by 9 am . There was also no fresh fruit on one of the days and the jams available were the cheapest catering ones you could ever find. It would be so easy to improve this place but until then I would say somewhere else on my next trip.
Nirvana Lodge

One of best and most comfortable stays. It was completely worth every penny. The host was responsive and helpful even before we entered Bhutan by informing us the rules and requirements of a driver and guide. The check in was quick and easy. We were welcomed with a welcome drink which was much needed as it was a cold day. The chef(Mr Icha Ram Adhikari ) and the other staff ( Aita Maya) were kind and helpful. The food was amazing and the chef even made pancakes for us on our check out day. Everything was well organised, room was spacious and clean , all amenities were provided and everything was functional. The lodge is fairly close to both the tiger nest( must visit in Bhutan) and the paro market( amazing for shopping and eateries). We ended up extending our stay by a day and would recommended this place to everyone.
Como Uma Paro

WOW. What else can you say? Arrived after a long day of sightseeing and was informed that all members of our group had been upgraded to a villa. The villas a free standing buildings on the grounds away from the hotel, and they take you to them in a golf buggy so you don't have to walk. The villas are HUGE! I couldn't believe this whole space was just for me. You get a lounge room, huge bathroom with claw foot bath and separate shower and toilet, a bedroom with a king sized bed and your own massage room! There is also a small butlers pantry for the use of the butler attached to your villa. One of my favorite things was actually that there is a space in the bathroom for your luggage so you don't have to mess up your sleeping space with your suitcase. You can really spread out your belongings and hang stuff up and there's room for more than one bag. The resort is high on a hill and the view from the bath is amazing. Had dinner at the restaurant one night and it was lovely as well as drinks at the bar. The staff were also really friendly and helpful. They also have an archery range so you can try Bhutan's national sport which I thought was really cool. The only thing with this place, and it's not a complaint just something to be aware of, is that it's really far out of town. It's not walkable to get into Paro so you will need to catch a taxi - I think they may have a shuttle, but don't quote me on that. I did manage to have a look at the hotel rooms, which to be honest are a bit plain and dated for the price being charged (the villas most certainly are not at all). They have a pool and the spa looks nice too, but didn't have time to try either of these. The only small problem I had was it took far too long for them to get the luggage to our rooms. We had been hiking and then rafting that day and had a short turn around at the hotel to get changed before attending a business dinner in Paro. It came time to leave and my luggage still had not arrived. I was still damp, sweaty and quite a mess and there was no way I could go out like that, especially to a business function. My luggage eventually arrived and I was forced to have the quickest shower of my life and run (couldn't wait for the buggy) to reception to meet my group and guide - I wasn't even the last one to arrive. Overall, it was a small thing that was annoying, but didn't really taint my experience of what was otherwise an absolutely wonderful stay.
