Hotel Tropicana Pattaya

The hotel is worth the money, but it depends on what you're looking for. It's fine for a short stay, but kids might get bored. The grounds are nice and beautiful. The rooms are old, and they asked for an unrealistic amount of money for an extra bed for a child, especially for this type of hotel... In a 5-star hotel, the bed was free. For breakfast, there's enough to eat, you won't go hungry. The pool hours are strange; it opens at 9:00 AM, not earlier like in other hotels. It's very quiet, overall it's okay.

Excellent value for money. The location is superb. You can walk to both Central and Terminal within 10-15 minutes. There are many cafes nearby. The hotel buildings are set back a bit from the beach road, so it's very quiet. The linens aren't new but they are clean. The grounds are large and well-maintained with 2 clean swimming pools. The rooms are spacious, no balconies, but there are 2 large windows. The hotel was a pleasant surprise.

I really liked the hotel! Let me preface this by saying that we are tourists who don't scrutinize every detail of a room or hotel as if we were evaluating the quality of a renovation (we don't count scratches on walls, pick at bathroom grout, or check the tightness of wardrobe doors. So, if you're a home improvement expert, just skip this review). This is a normal review for a genuinely great hotel: large rooms. We had a ground-floor room with direct access to the garden where the pools are located. The balcony was open and spacious, yet you couldn't be seen from the pool; to peek at what's happening at the pool, you'd actually have to get up from your chair. The room was huge, with thick curtains, a controllable and functional air conditioner, a bed with a wonderful mattress, daily cleaning, and a bathtub (not just a shower). The wardrobe had an automatic light that turned on when opened. For a safe, a locker is provided at the reception; you put your items in, get a key, and they retrieve your belongings upon request at any time. We found this much more secure than the typical 3kg in-room safes with flimsy doors and the unique code '0000'). Breakfasts were buffet-style and quite varied: omelets made to order, broth and toppings to assemble your own soup, many main dishes (you can adjust the spiciness with self-serve additions), and it's possible to create a kids' menu (sausages, noodles, pasta, cereal, milk), vegetables, fruits, and pastries. Everything was delicious! We really liked the grounds, the pathways, and the blooming frangipani. Pools: one near the bungalows, and a second large one (3 zones: a shallow area, an area about 1.40 meters deep, and a third area over 2.5 meters deep). There were plenty of sun loungers, and guests moved them around as they pleased. The staff, in general, were very relaxed about everything; no one bothered anyone about anything (even despite the rule against bringing your own food and drinks to the pool). The luxury of this hotel lies in the small number of rooms spread over a huge area, giving you the feeling that there are very few people around (unlike large multi-story hotels). The hotel has its own private street, closed off by barriers on both sides (taxis pass through freely). To get to the beach, you just walk along half of the hotel, and you're by the sea. Straight ahead is the sea, to the left is the night market with food. If you turn around and go the other way, you'll find a street that leads to Terminal 21, just a 10-minute walk away. Many people say the hotel has seen better days. Yes, I won't deny that it's not brand new. But in its defense, I'll say: IT'S NORMAL! It's genuinely great for a vacation in every aspect, and at a completely reasonable and affordable price. Anyone who has stayed by Lake Baikal and paid a lot of money for a wooden box will completely agree with me!

Large, beautiful, and blooming grounds in the city center. The pool is decent. No one mentioned in the reviews that there are adjoining rooms. Your stay will depend entirely on your neighbors behind that door. Therefore, I cannot recommend this hotel. There are probably rooms without connecting doors to the next room. But living like that is impossible, especially if you end up with Indian neighbors. August isn't peak season, so there aren't many people.

Just about 100 meters walk from the beach, it's very quiet. The swimming pool water is refreshing, and both the hotel and rooms are very clean, completely undisturbed by the noise from the road. Breakfast is abundant. It's surrounded by a street full of bars, and the city center is only a 20-minute walk away. You can also walk to the Tiffany's show in about 20 minutes. This hotel is basically in the middle of Pattaya Beach. After taking a bus from Bangkok to Pattaya, a taxi ride to the hotel takes about 15 minutes. I recommend downloading the Grab and Bolt apps to compare ride prices, as they are very convenient for getting around, similar to Didi and other ride-hailing apps in China. There's a currency exchange right outside the hotel. Highly recommended.

Great location, very close to the beach. However, the hotel is quite old and the facilities show signs of rough, patchwork repairs. The air conditioning isn't very cold; it's tolerable in the morning but not in the afternoon.

The room was clean and well-equipped with all amenities. The reception staff were very friendly, helpful, and provided excellent advice. I will definitely stay here again if I have the chance.
