Polean Farm Cottages

My sister and i with our 5 young children under 10 have just returned from a wonderful week at the farm house at Polean farm. The house is large comfortable sitting areas, great wifi and lovely big bedrooms. There is nothing we can fault at all everything you need for a self catering holiday is there. The children loved the pony rides, animal feeding and especially the tractor rides. The hot tub in the garden well what can i say was the most amazing hot tub EVER . I can highly recommend this accommodation for larger families. We will be back. Thank you

A fantastic family holiday. Great for animals and countryside and the local towns were a delight to walk around. Helpful friendly staff and spotlessly clean. The children loved the pony rides, tractor rides and especially the animal feeding. Fresh fish, cornish pasty and fudge were easy to get.

We loved our cozy cottage and all the animals we could fed and pet every day, especially the horses. :-) Also the playground and the indoor play area is great, however needs a bit updating. Staff was very helpful and fast responding when needed. Overall, we very much enjoyed our stay and recommend it for all families with toddlers.

We were 6 adults and 3 kids in the Farmhouse. Bedrooms were a lovely size, and thankfully there are 2 bathrooms upstairs. Kitchen was big enough to cook meals (lovely big fridge) but the dining room table isn't big enough to seat more than 6 adults, even with the seats at the bar we were short on space. Kids loved wandering around the property, feeding the animals and playing in the playground. They had a wonderful time and haven't stopped talking about it since we returned. The pool at the local holiday park is very basic but its a lovely thing to offer and we appreciated it on a rainy day. The property overall is a bit tired. The beds could do with new mattresses, the bed I slept in was sagging on one side. The knives in the kitchen are a big hazard as they are so blunt. There isn't quite enough cutlery for a full house (it advertised as sleeping 10-12). We didn't have bathmats. Information on their guestbook is very out of date, from directions (road signs have changed since it was written) to the cost of laundry (its £2-3 depending on washing machine settings, and honestly its a cheek to charge considering the machine is in very poor condition). What was a real sour experience was the constant in and out of the property owners/maintenance to install a hot tub in the garden while we were staying there (that wouldn't be available during my stay so of no benefit to me). We were asked if an electrician could come sort out some wiring which we reluctantly agreed to as they would likely be in the garden while we were out. This snowballed into someone being in the garden every other day, sometimes we had warning, a couple times they just appeared, and it stopped being asked and we were just told they were coming. I really didn't appreciate spending over 2k on a family holiday and having to deal with workman coming in and out the property, and communicating with the owner about it, especially as I felt they took advantage of our goodwill and just did what they wanted most of the time. While I didn't mention this to the owner, it didn't feel like a big deal until the last couple days of our stay and at that point, felt too late to bring it up as the worst had already happened. Furthermore, after checking online, the Farmhouse wasn't booked for 4 days after we left so it really wasn't an urgent task. I believe this is unique to my stay and wouldn't happened again, but I do wonder if the owners have stopped caring about the experience of their guests.

Two of us stayed in Waggoners Cottage. Lovely conversion. Very clean and well maintained. Lovely quiet location with livery and horses (which we are used to) Ideal for young family with games room and toys plus baby goats and lambs and guinea pigs. House was well equiped (bit short of cleaning materials but not an issue) Lovely sheltered own garden area and larger garden area behind us. Maybe suggest a site guide in the house so people know where to walk etc. On line guide very good. Yes for sure we would book again (soon)

We stayed in The Meal house, which is just off the beaten track yet very handy for Looe and area. The Meal house is small and cosy, warm and welcoming, ideal for a couple. Sarah, Marie and Gary were very accommodating in helping us settle in, we would definitely stay again if down that way.🙂

We stayed at Polean Farm as a family group with ages ranging from 0 to 80. The house is lovely, staying on a farm was amazing. The pony rides, tractor rides and animal feeding was all available and the children loved it. The staff at the farm were all very helpful and made our stay special. I highly recommend it.

It's a good place for family, specially for children's who enjoyed the tractor ride and stable animals House stay was so good and place too come back Cozy place for everyone to stay and enjoy the break

Polean Farm accommodated 17 of us for one week in Farmhouse and Twinkle cottages. Both cottages were very clean, comfortable and well presented with farm animals, trampoline and games room for great grandchildren which was an added bonus. We visited few beaches, slate mine, jet ski and the amazing Goliath Falls. Waking up to open countryside was icing on the cake - thank you Polean well recommended.
