Quiet, nice and comfort place to stay. Placed little bit inside from the road make it quiet and calm to relax in this cottage. Clean pool, beautiful garden, friendly staff. Sure will be back again to this place, soon!

misleading photos, lax staff, safe not fixed, room not serviced, dry cleaning service (didn't know where they had left the laundry) and finally I had to repair the bedroom window which didn't close...... . And I am not exaggerating, hence my great frustration in this wonderful place..........

Scam!! Fraud!! Unprofessional hotel. Very bad treatment with tourists. Paid reservation for two suites with pool views since April and upon arrival they gave us other rooms that had nothing to do with it. After requesting the change, when we showed them our reservation with the photos and explanation, they only responded that it was a booking error. Laughter and mockery. A lack of respect and incredible lack of professionalism. They only repeated like an answering machine that they did not take care of it. The problem is with booking and that is why they did not return the money. And if we did not like their conditions, we left (without returning the amount paid). Little training of the receptionist and little professionalism of the manager who came after five hours, making senseless fuss without giving a solution. We ended up outside the hotel. Being informed the next day while we were on an excursion, without any consent. Thanks to Booking we had a good response and a better ending. They refused at all times both to mediate and to relocate us to stays like the ones we had paid for and to return the difference. A hoax!!!!! Not everything is worth the tourist!!!

Notre réservation au Banana cottage ayant été annulée nous avons atterri au Salim cottage et nous avons été ravis. Situé à 15’ de marche du port sur la côte est. Certes l’hôtel mériterait quelques travaux de rénovation, mais les cottages sont impeccables, la piscine aussi et le bar de hôtel est au bord de la plage avec soirée musicale en soirée (live band) jusqu’à 23h (mais non audible depuis les bungalows) avec très bonne ambiance. Restaurant sympa et personnel très aimable. Lever de soleil devant le bar Très belles plages pour la baignade et le snorkeling et plusieurs bons restos poissons BBQ à proximité dont le ChillOut.

The hotel is in a great location in Gili Air about a 10 minute walk from the harbour. (If your sat nav tries to take you a scenic way to the hotel ignore it and just follow the costal path round - much easier). The hotel itself is ok, the staff are very friendly and the price is cheap and I do think that reflects in the hotel. The room is spacious and so is the bathroom however there was a drain smell in the bathroom during the whole of our stay (the bathroom is open at the top so I assume the smell was from outside the bathroom). The pool was green so we did not go in it and on our last day there was a sign next to the pool saying it was under maintenance so could not be used anyway. The hotel has a restaurant next door which has live music which is good, they also provided a nice breakfast.

Salem is located near the beach. The outdoor restaurant is overlooking the beach with another indoor restaurant in front of the accommodation. It is walking distance to the harbour and the many restaurants in between. Great snorkeling right in front where you can safely snorkel along the beach. We booked the pool view suite which was really unusual. There is a common sitting area adjoining four suites so can be very noisy. Also there is no verandah to sit outside. The staff were great and happily let us change rooms to the garden view suite that had a verandah. If we stayed again we would book a bungalow that were separate from each other. The staff were all very friendly and helpful.
