This accommodation is a unique blend of a modern motel room and a comfy camping chalet! At first glance it might seem a little disappointing as the wooden buildings need a repaint - yet inside you’ll find a welcoming reception and lounge area. The wooden floor and details contribute to a warm and cozy atmosphere. Thanks to white walls and big windows it’s also bright and you can enjoy an ocean view from the lobby and breakfast area. The modest room has all you need though it’s not too big. If you bring a lot of luggage you might lack storage space. We had one suitcase in the bathroom and left the other one in the car right in front of the door. Le Nordet is situated between Gaspé and Percé and is thus the perfect home base to explore the eastern end of the Gaspésie peninsula. The microwave turned out handy as there are few dining options in the two towns mentioned - especially on Sundays and Mondays. The hotel comes with the “Thula” Spa, which looks awesome. I tried a massage and it was super relaxing. After all, the staff was very friendly and multilingual (French, English, German). Should we ever make our way from Europe to the shaws of the St Lawrence area again, we’d come back for sure. My ups and downs for this place: + passionately arranged accommodation with lots of love for detail visible + bright scandic design with lots of wood + very eco friendly + great location for explorers, hikers etc. + spa, massage and kayaking tours can be booked + relaxing massage + breakfast options + fridge, microwave, coffee machine and drinking water dispenser in the room - few sockets (might be a problem if two people have to recharge different gadgets over night) - the 20$ breakfast option is not necessary (definitely tasty (!!) - but no big variety), the 10$ continental option is a better deal - spa-entry not included for hotel guests (one per stay would be awesome) - cleaning supplies (such as broom, sponge) for the room would be convenient if you don’t want to call the on-demand-housekeeping
Very Good
