Hyatt Place Bloomington Indiana

Tried to check in at 5 pm and the room wasn’t ready yet. Asked if an hour or two was enough time and they were unsure. Came back at 7 pm and the room was ready to check in. There was someone’s meal left in the refrigerator for only God knows how long. A strong smell came from the refrigerator when I opened it the first time.

Excellent property, location and friendly staff. Parking should have been included, instead of charging $15/day. The breakfast included was ended by 9am on a Good Friday holiday. Bit surprised to see that the items were not replenished by 8:35am. The selections were not that many. Something the management should think about. If breakfast were not included, we would have planned accordingly.

Staff was fantastic and helpful, room left some opportunities for improvement as did the breakfast offerings. While the bed was comfortable and the room clean, there are no blackout curtains and the lights from the downtown area bled around the shade making it difficult to sleep. Coffee maker in room was in need of cleaning as a full cup of water in yielded only a half cup of brewed coffee and a half full reservoir. Regarding breakfast, scrambled eggs were cold and overcooked. While the omelets were hot, they were also overcooked and rubbery. Potatoes were undercooked and cold. While I would consider staying at this property again due to the proximity to restaurants and bars and understanding that it may have been an off-day for breakfast, I would consider other options in the area as well.

Very nice, clean hotel. The breakfast was very good with a large are to sit in. The parking lot can fill up, leaving you to park on the street to pay a fee if you get back later.There are no microwaves in the rooms. There is a refridgerator but you have to warm your food up in the one microwave on the entire floor by the elevators. That can also be a long walk from some rooms. But those are small issues. Overall a very nice place to stay.
