The Lovat Hotel

Veey disappointed with the hotel. Horrible customer service. Very poor hygiene. Have to bring my own ham for a breakfast which has to be continental. Staff was sneezing in food. Never book it again.

Never stay here if you have a family , it's like being next to a nightclub. Absolutely disgusting , why put families and children in a hotel if you have loud night time events 10 meters from the bedrooms. We can hear everything, songs , DJ , everyone shouting. Some holiday.

What a terrible place to stay! I arrived after a 7hr drive and booked in at reception, I was advised to go via the car park to a big white door. I dragged my bags across the car park only to find the big white door locked! There was a ring doorbell which I pressed twice and had no answer. I then googled the number and called the hotel, eventually someone opened the door. I entered my room which was a King Room, straight away I noticed the room had not been cleaned, the bed was unmade, bins full and towels on the floor! I went back to reception and I was offered another room, I was advised it was another King room. Turns out it was actually a standard double. The room was drab, old broken furniture no where to hang clothes as again broken. The tv would only tune into BBC channels! I was so tired I couldn’t be bothered to complain. I was visiting on business so when I arrived the next day after work my key wouldn’t work so back to reception and explained how unhappy I was with the room and the mess of the first room, the young lady just said “they obviously didn’t check it” and that was it! So had another uncomfortable night went to work came back key not working again! There were towels on the floor in the corridor and it was just dirty! Right outside my bedroom window was the smoking area so noisy and I couldn’t open my windows, I also had to draw the curtains as wanted my privacy! I had enough so decided to check out there and then and drive the 7hrs back home rather than stay another night! The hotel is dated, and dirty! Most certainly not how advertised on the website, please don’t rely on the photos! I would never stay in this hotel again and would not recommend to anyone! At breakfast there was a young man topping up the food, he proceeded to stand there rubbing his face and picking his ear, totally put me off and I didn’t finish my breakfast! I am hoping a refund will be given to my company as paid for a King Room but not given one! Avoid at all costs!!!

Staff were super helpful for anything we needed. Food was good. We had a good experience there.

Dilapidated, very basic and badly in need of refurbishment. Horrendous noise all night. Heard the night manager telling people to stay in their rooms due to complaints of noise. When raising this on leaving was told “this is an active hotel”. Don’t know what that was supposed to mean.

An excellent stay, very comfortable and clean room. First class service from the staff but special mention for Sarah, an absolute star! Looking forward to coming back soon. David & Morag

What an awful hotel ! Booked for my partner who is up in the area working, don’t require anything fancy just a bed to sleep and a shower ! But those things seemed to be too difficult ! No toilet roll in loo, shower that trickled and then when took duvet back to her in bed no sheet just a horrid marked stained mattress protector on the bed !! Yuk ! Got moved rooms that night, was exhausted just wanted into bed ! No towels in this room !! My partner called the hotel to complain, the member rod staff said she would get the situation rectified and ensure the room was serviced and appointed before tonight ! Shock horror, room not made up, no towels, nothing ! So even after someone has highlighted an issue !! Sod all has been done ! Do not even thing about booking this hotel ! Awful awful awful

Disappointing Superior King Room !!!!!!! 2⭐️ 1) On arrival for checkin - there was nobody available to check us in to our room. After ringing the bell for assistance several times and then phoning for assistance as per notice board at reception, on waiting for over 5 minutes, we were finally checked in and given directions to our room. This was what I’d describe as an adjoining annex, something of a halfway house / something that the local council would offer to DSS homeless. 2) Bit of a musky smell when entering the room. The room itself is acceptable, but doesn’t live up to a 3⭐️ standard with some poor finishings: See Below details 3a) Double socket directly above newly installed heater - possibly a fire hazard!!!!! 3b) Poorly filled in holes on wall / possibly poster stand (as photo).. 3c) 1 x button on below side of TV to operate the TV completely, from switching on, changing channels to increasing volume resulting in (while in bed) every time you want to change channel, etc, you’ve to get up and navigate for 5 mins by pressing the only TV button to make any changes - Remote Control in room is not compatible with TV (WTAF)….. Then to top it off, when you do get TV Picture Signal (yeah, the TV has intermittent signal quality) the sound lag is somewhat approx 60 seconds in front of picture on screen. 3d) Addition heater supplied - damaged. In total there are 4 heaters in room: 2 old style wall mounted radiators not working, 1 new wall mounted heater and 1 portable 240v heater. 3e) Poor cheap standard mattress supplied, uncomfortable lacking support. 4) Toilet / Shower room is basic with rusting shower attachments. 5) Breakfast Food Quality - Small selection, not premium but adequate standard. Good Points: Large Room / Bottle of water provided on arrival. Warm room (no need to use additional heater). Acceptable Hotel if you’re only looking for a room / bed for the night. Close to Perth Centre (well within walking distance). Nice and friendly staff. Rosie was customer focused and accommodating. This hotel has a lot of potential, but this would require a lot of investment. Would’ve been quite a place to stay in its heyday. However, If you’re looking for / expecting ‘3⭐️’ Premier Inn Standard, then book into a Premier Inn. This hotel is not of the same standard!!!! Best Western Senior Management need to do better.
