It's very average. The room we were given is almost a ba*****t, not the first floor. Walking down from the lobby, the smell is very strong. The mattress is also very uncomfortable and collapsed. There is very little breakfast. Would not recommend.

Standard double room. Clean tidy with everything you need for a short stay. Staff friendly and helpful. Our room looked onto the River Tay which was nice. Cooked breakfast was delicious. Location excellent. Log fire warming on a cold night.

Such a huge disappointment. Certainly not worthy of 3 stars. Underwhelming, and a rather unfriendly, checkin. Staff at dinner couldn’t be bothered to offer me a drink or take my order so after 20mins waiting I gave up and left. Lots of available external eatery options moments from the hotel. Mattress and pillows probably the most uncomfortable I’ve ever slept on (if 3hrs of poor sleep counts!) and room (23) dirty, tired, and badly in need of significant renovation but at least the bathroom was good, fresh, and there was plenty of hot water! The only positive was that the wonderful breakfast team were chatty, happy, and welcoming. Thank goodness as otherwise this would have been a one star review…. I’d certainly never consider this place again. Trading on what has been an exciting history but now well past its sell by date. Little surprise that nobody appears willing to buy it having been on the market since 2019. At that point it seems investment may well have stopped! There are so many much, much, better places to stay in/around Perth so caution advised.

The room I was in was small but comfortable. The televison reception was very poor. The staff at the hotel were nice, although the hotel seemed busy for February. Breakfast was buffet style, and just ok. Very handy venue for the Perth Concert Hall. Pity it has no lifts for older residents, but staff were helpful taking cases upstairs.

Old style hotel which retains its charm, but the staff were super friendly and helpful.

We have just arrived back from our weekend stay at The Royal George Hotel and we had the best time. It’s not often I write reviews about a hotel but felt like this one was needed. We booked a 2 night stay and arrived at the hotel on Friday evening. On entry we were greeted by staff on reception who got us checked in really quickly. We stayed in room 65 which was at the top of the stunning staircase. The room was immaculate, bathroom was super clean and so much room within the suite. We had a relaxing evening and had a great sleep on night 1. No noise, peaceful and just what we were after. On the Saturday we arrived down for breakfast and was greeted by 2 lovely ladies who were running the breakfast that morning (and on the Sunday). I didn’t get their names but I’d like to pass on great feedback about how well they kept the morning running in the dining area. They were efficient at refilling foods running low, could not have been more attentive and were friendly and upbeat. They are an absolute credit to the hotel. We spent lots of time in the lounge area enjoying the views by the open fire. Staff again were making sure we had everything we need and always asking if we needed anything. On the Saturday evening we booked in for the high tea with the famous meringues and could not recommend it enough. Such great value for money, and the food was delicious. We didn’t manage to finish it all and they even offered to box some up to take away. I would highly recommend this hotel. The staff are incredible, the hotel is stunning and the service we received while there was unmatched. I just want to say thank you to the royal George hotel for making our stay absolutely perfect. We are already thinking of booking our next stay 🫶🏻

A beautiful iconic hotel with all the great traditional features of a top establishment. My friend and I loved the welcome and our rooms and breakfast were great. We chose to eat dinner in the hotel restaurant both evenings we were there. The hotel's location could not be better - right in the heart of the city centre and next to the River Tay.

Fabulous stay at The Royal George. Meeting up with a group of friends for an event at the Concert Hall. The hotel is close not only to the Concert Hall but to shopping with M&S, Next, Primark and many more all close together on the High Street. Having found out that the Perth Parkrun takes place about 1/2 - 1km away from the hotel (leaving from the conservatory), I decided to run that on the Saturday morning too. The area alongside the River Tay is stunning to wander along and had lunch at the Black Watch Museum too, all right outside the Hotel. I had a room in the George overlooking the River Tay. The room was good (old worldly), the bathroom modern and clean, and served my needs adequately. We had a late lunch here and a buffet after our event, both were superb and breakfast good too. The standout for this hotel were the staff, everyone I spoke was lovely, couldn't do enough for me. It's been a long time since I have had the pleasure of meeting staff who seemed to enjoy actively making your stay as relaxing and hassle free as possible.
