A party of 9 of us stayed here as part of a theatre tour. Overall experience was excellent but could have been a disaster. The radiator in my room was broken, the temperature became unbearable, it was late at night and the hotel was fully booked. Staff did everything they could to help fix the problem, I was eventually moved to a different room, which wasn't on sale due to a previous leak in the ceiling, the room was fine and thankfully cold. The manager very kindly did not charge for the first night. I needed the use of a printer for work stuff, again the manager was so helpful and let me send documents to her to be printed and also trusted me with their guillotine for the evening. Food was great too, nothing was too much trouble for the team here. Thanks everyone!

My stay at The Palace Hotel has been nothing but the best. From the staff, the food, the rooms, nothing could have been better. I was recommended to stay here by my family who stay in the area (who I assure you would’ve been held accountable by me if it wasn’t good!!). The reception staff are fantastic, made me laugh upon check in. Went to the restaurant for food, again fantastic. Bar staff after that were great. Knowledgable, friendly, kept you entertained. I have to make a special mention to the night staff. We all know it’s not easy working a nightshift. Especially with lower staff numbers looking after a whole hotel. Both the night staff I seen (separate nights) were both gents. Couldn’t have done more. Room service delivered, it never was a problem. It was evident their professionalism and commi**ent to work makes the guest feel safe in the hotel. I am due to check out tomorrow morning but would like to say thank you to all the staff. I will absolutely stay here again when visiting family in the area.

Our experience of the Palace Hotel to date is confined to having an early evening meal there prior to attending a concert in Peterhead within the past few days. Having looked at possibilities on-line, we had booked in advance, and have never ever been to this hotel before, our home city being Aberdeen (35 miles away) and our trips to the Peterhead area usually taking the form of a 'whole day package' in our car along with some visitors: that particular coastal area being a highly rewarding part of Scotland to aim for when looking to plan a mid-summer 12-hour day trip out and back from Aberdeen for the day. We enjoyed our Palace Hotel , Peterhead dining experience very much. The lady on reception could not have been more welcoming, and the same was true of the staff in the upstairs dining area. We enjoyed the rather old style feel of our surroundings, which have been sympathetically modernised, with plenty of space still between tables, comfy chairs, ample space on the table tops and plenty of interesting photos and artwork on the walls to take a look at. Smartly dressed waiters really knew their jobs, and the pacing of everything was very well judged. A 5-star hotel could not have looked after us better in terms of quality of service, our having booked an early table (5 pm) because of our early evening engagement. With only four or five tables occupied at the time, the quality of the attention we received was all we could have wished for. The well-balanced, plenty of choice standard menu is on--line, and, to our surprise, there were Specials of the Day too. One was a pork stroganoff with rice and vegetables. Sensibly priced, it a arrived piping hot, attractively presented and packed with pork. Really good value. Watching the head waiter at work made the years roll back. A trio at a nearby table had their meals brought to them 'old style', with the waiter balancing a large silver salver one-handed at shoulder height as he approached their table, and then taking the time to set them down carefully. On this salver were all three meals, again very well presented and of considerable size. How the years rolled back, and various film scenes sprang to mind! We really could not have been better looked after in terms of service, and being treated in that way got our evening in Peterhead off to an excellent start; and all the more so when the hotel owner made clear to us that, provided we felt we could cope with the walking (we are both in our early eighties), we were welcome to leave our car in their hotel car park for the duration of the evening rather than fight for a parking place (and worry about finding one!) that bit closer to the concert venue, which was a 10-minute walk away. So very kind and thoughtful and, for us, a godsend: we coped fine with the short walk. Good food, highly attentive service, and not at any point addressed as "You guys". What a start to our evening at the opera! (Scottish Opera on tour, small scale. Superb.) W

Stayed one night here in November. Staff were the highlight of our stay very friendly and helpful. Our bar meal was just OK The fish and chips had dry peas and a lettuce rich salad mainly salad!!! Our room had a towel rail in the bathroom which worked but the radiator in the room didn’t. Fortunately it wasn’t too cold that night and the bed was very comfortable.

Very positive experience. Nice and clean rooms, Soft beds. Cozy a**osphere in reception and service minded staff. Apprentice was smiling as well. We eat at restaurant, battered haddock was very good. Full Scottish Breakfast in the morning was the best ever. All to reasonable prices. Highly recommend the Palace Hotel

The food at the diner was abysmal. It claimed to be fresh local seafood but I’m pretty sure it was from the frozen section at Aldi. Service was mediocre. A**osphere bland. Certainly doesn’t live up to what they claim to be.

Went for a meal with friends. Really wish I hadn't . Haggis fritters tasted like they were from Farmfoods, not cooked by a 'professional' chef. Moving onto the main course..or not...one mouthful of the steak, it was not going to be a great meal....then I took the second mouthful...and sent it back. Disgusted that a chef would even serve this. As for the veg. Used to think that this placed served veg Al Dente...now I'm convinced they take it from the sump of the dishwasher. Wasn't expecting much. Got even less.

You are not spoiled for choice in Peterhead, and this is a perfectly well run, small town hotel with friendly, helpful staff. Room was comfortable and clean, water was hot and the bed was comfy. I was there when the temperature was minus nine outside and I never felt cold at all. The breakfast was terrific. Freshly cooked and very nicely served. Decent coffee too. Not the Ritz, but it’s not pretending to be. I’d be happy to stay there again.
