This was a great location, with a superb view of the South Downs from our very comfortable ensuite room. The food was very good, and the staff were very friendly and welcoming. We fully intend to return, and wouldn't hesitate to recommend this to anyone.

Just returned from a wonderful stay at the Welldiggers Arms. The staff were friendly and professional, our room was lovely and the food and drink delicious. Can’t fault it at all, a really lovely pub, we would definitely return!

We were made very welcome by the manageress which was much appreciated after a difficult day. The room was lovely with lots of luxury touches such as the complimentary lotions. We loved the decor, and the location is lovely, very quiet setting. It was an extremely hot night and although a fan was provided in the room, it wasn't enough to help. The food was nice - especially the breakfast - but the service in the evening was slow. We had to keep flagging the staff even though there weren't many people dining. Overall, recommended!

Lovely comfortable room next to the pub. Cosy and inviting. Fabulous food at dinner and very reasonably priced. All the staff were friendly and accommodating. Only downside was breakfast didn't start until 8.30 am and we had to leave earlier for the airport. The manager and chef arranged for some pastries for us to pick up in the morning before we left.

An attractive room but carpet was dirty on arrival, room poorly lit, overhead shower didn’t work, soup lukewarm. Power cut during dinner very badly handled by manager. Told to go back to room with no food and no torches or candles, yet the next day we discovered emergency torches in rooms. Made worse by full cost of dinner we never had being put on our bill.

Great place to stay for visiting Petworth House. Loved the breakfasts. Bed really comfortable king size. View from our patio was amazing. Would definitely stay here again.

Staff were excellent, food good, good location & value. Sadly the rooms were tired & in need of a serious “Deep clean”!
