Viking Nature Resort

Everything is wonderful, we are very happy with the hotel. I have to say that the resort is poorly photographed on booking websites. In reality, the cottages are better. The plumbing, furniture, and appliances are very high-quality, the design is thoughtful, everything is done with love, and it looks quite new. The cleaning was excellent, and the staff was attentive and friendly. We stayed in a standard double room first, then in a deluxe room. The breakfasts were good.

If you enjoy communing with nature and exploring the jungle, this hotel is for you. You won't be able to get out of the hotel after dark, so it's better to sail from the port. There's always a water taxi for 150 baht per person. To get to Long Beach, you have to walk along a makeshift path with ropes and stones. It's a joy to be there after dark, and there are flashlights in the room. During our three-day stay, a whole family of monkeys visited; it's best not to leave anything on the balcony. The hotel restaurant is open until 10 p.m.

We loved our stay here and will be back! Since we came during the off-season, we received a free upgrade, thank you for that! Viking Nature Resort is the perfect paradise for us, where you can just let yourself go and truly relax. It's located right on the beach and just a short walk from Long Beach. It consists of treehouses, furnished with great attention to detail. The houses have a cozy balcony with a hammock, air conditioning, fly screens on the windows, and an additional fly net over the bed. Upon our arrival, we were picked up by a longtail boat directly from the pier, and the restaurant staff even carried our luggage to our bungalow. You start the day with an excellent breakfast buffet until 11 a.m. in the beachfront restaurant, which truly leaves nothing to be desired (coffee, juices, scrambled eggs, omelets, waffles, pancakes, fruit, yogurt, pasta, etc.). Afterward, you can stay right on the small private beach with turquoise waters. You can have a massage right on the beach and have dinner in the same excellent restaurant until 9 p.m. The town is reachable in half an hour via a beautiful footpath directly along the beach. The path is lit at night in places, and for the rest of the area, you'll have a flashlight in your room. Despite its proximity to town, the resort is wonderfully quiet, and you can hear the waves lapping at night. Since the resort is located on the water and in nature, there are naturally more mosquitoes, especially in the restaurant, but very few in the accommodations. However, this wasn't a problem for us, as we simply sprayed ourselves with mosquito spray in the morning, and the problem disappeared.

A very nice hotel in the middle of the jungle with a practically private beach. You can have breakfast almost on the sand (a good breakfast). The rooms are great (comfortable bed with mosquito nets), and the staff is very friendly. The food is very good in the hotel's own restaurant (large dishes, good prices). There are quite a few stairs to get to the rooms. However, connections to the port (and town) are very poor. They have a free boat that takes you to and from the port upon arrival and departure, but other trips cost between 100 and 200 baht. You can walk, but it's about a 20-minute walk at a brisk pace, and the path is neither conventional nor well-marked. Part of it is along the beach, partly through the jungle. At night, it's poorly lit (they leave a flashlight in your room). One night, we couldn't find the boat back (at 12:30 a.m. after dinner and a beer). Of course, when you arrive at the port, a traditional boat is waiting to take you to the hotel, and on the way back, you'll get your feet wet getting on and off the boat, as you disembark on the hotel's own beach. A beautiful hotel adventure.
