Quaint, quiet and comfortable. This property is also highlighted by the staff and service. Ask to speak with Jim, Jerry or Bob or any staff member I didn't get the pleasure of meeting directly. Anything you need regarding the property, eateries and attractions are their forte. Have a lovely stay!!

Close to where I needed to be. Beautiful old historic hotel. Room was very nice. I rate it a 10.

I stay there every time I have business in Philadelphia. The staff is friendly and helpful, parking is just across the street, and it has so much more charm than a standard hotel. (I left something in my room once and they mailed it back to me -- very nice!)

Very friendly knowledgeable staff that made you feel like you were visiting a family member. Couldn't ask for a better location to tour Philadelphia and very charming facility.

Jim was very welcoming when we came in the door. Gave us a history of the hotel and a tour which was fantastic. If we need to come back to this area, we will stay here again.

. We stayed in Room 203 Mini Suite- Sat night($409) and Sun night($279) + taxes etc = $794. We booked directly with the hotel. Positives: Staff- The staff is friendly. Claudia greeted us and took us on a tour of the hotel. Drinks- I liked having water bottles whenever we needed them. There was not a practical place to refill our water bottles from homed. Major perk- Coffee and tea 24/7. I also really liked their coffee. They had a great tea assor**ent if you are a tea drinker. Food- There is an awesome Italian restaurant (that also takes reservations) within the same block- Buca D'oro Ristorante. I highly recommend a meal there. Location- It’s a great location. Unique- It was fun to stay at a historic hotel. Negatives: The room was warm. We did what the directions said by the A/C on the wall and the room still stayed warm. Then the next day we asked staff for assistance, but the room did not get cooler. The windows do not open, so we could not get fresh air. It really made everything miserable because we were so hot. Tub- The tub in this room would not hold water. It was as if the drain area was cracked open. We were looking forward to being able to take baths. Misc: Don’t forget, there are not elevators. You will be using stairs. Breakfast- It was cereal, hard boiled eggs, yogurt, muffins. Very, very average. You can get food like this at any hotel for a lesser price. Mattresses are not very firm, so if that is important to you, be advised. The fitted sheet would not stay on because of this. Lol We had to leave the hotel at 4:30 am to catch a flight. I wanted to tell the staff, but it was a one man show. He had to do a wake up call for someone “at 4:30 am,” while setting up breakfast, checking us out, and opening the front gates. I wasn’t going to bring it up then. I called later to alert them that the air conditioning and tub were not working properly. I still feel like a sucker for paying for a room that was that uncomfortable. We definitely will not be returning. We value air conditioning and getting to take a bath too much when on vacation. Since we were there from after 5 pm on Saturday and left before 5 am on Monday, it was easier to not ask for another room. There was no way we could have stayed another day in that room if we were there for 3 nights. It was a big let down.
