I travel allot and have stayed at many Hamptons. These best few years the quality of Hampton Inns has been hit or miss. I guessing one of the reasons for this is some or maybe all Hampton Inns are franchised and some owners are better than others. The Hampton Inn at Pikeville is one of the best. The room I stayed in was larger then most, secure ,with better quality overall. The amenities and breakfast were up to standards. If you want an example of a poorly run, cheap quality and unsafe environment Hampton Inn for comparison try staying at the Hampton Inn in Kent, Ohio. They don't offer key cards or any other type key for you to get in and out of your room. The person at the front desk as to walk you to your room and let's you enter. I thought this might be temporary do to remodeling but was told it had been that way for at least 6 months when the person at the front desk said they started. No lie!
