Pinellas County Hotels with Swimming Pools

We stayed here for 2 nights and had 3 rooms. This holiday inn is a little different in that it has a restaurant with made to order breakfasts. They give you 2 adult breakfasts per room and kids under 18 get free breakfasts. We did add the breakfast option on to our rooms and it was nice. There were not a lot of people at breakfast ever so we got very good service and good food. The portions were good as well. My compliments to the breakfast staff as they were all very friendly and the food was decent. The rooms have large TVs, microwaves, and frigs. Our frig was loud and we had a cooler so we unplugged ours. The beds and pillows were comfortable for us. Somewhere On the IHG site it said the hotel was new. That may not be accurate at this point but it’s in decent condition. The pool area is nice and nicer then most holiday inns. There is a small fitness room but the equipment all seemed to be in working order. It seems like a lot of workers stay in the hotel based on all the work trucks. This was not an issue for us and noise was not too much of an issue. The hotel was centrally located for us. We did a dolphin tour at Hubbards Marina at John’s Pass and enjoyed it. We also went to a Tarpon Springs and enjoyed that as well. The front desk staff were nice and helpful. Check in took some time just because there were a couple of people ahead of us.

The hotel is not very new, but clean and tidy. The pool and the restaurant on the first floor are very good. The restaurant has live music every night. It feels good to sit outside and listen to music while eating and watching the sunset. It takes about 5 minutes from the hotel to the white beach, personally feel very close, you can borrow beach towels at the front desk. There is a Kurig coffee machine in the hotel room, and the washing is Bath & Body Works. Overall, it is a hotel with a very good price/performance ratio in Clearwater. It would be better if the guest parking is free, now it is 25 knives per night, just go in and out.

The location is very good and the ground floor is connected to the beach. It’s great to watch the sun in the morning and watch the sunset in the evening. All the facilities and seats on the beach are charged. The price of the umbrella plus the bed is one hundred and one day. If the family rents one day, it is not bad, but the Florida afternoon in October is too dry and there is no way to stay.

This was a stopover on a long drive along both Florida coasts for fun and relaxation. I arrived and the man at the front desk with a New York/northeastern accent was very welcoming and friendly. He and another man upgraded me to a poolside room which I graciously accepted. I noticed I forgot to bring my beach shoes and they were very helpful with directions on several places to buy a pair. The pool is outdoor as most are in Florida. Nothing fancy, but did the job. Bed was comfortable and breakfast was typical HIE fare. Would return.

Family of four, including kids, stayed 7 nights. We had visited a few hotels in the area and this one was the cleanest, staff was very polite and helpful, and they provided hot breakfast to-go every morning. Nancy, Estela, and Betty at the breakfast stand were exceptional.

I chose this hotel because I've stayed at Courtyards before and wanted that experience. I was a bit disappointed that the hotel was undergoing a major remodeling, and the elements of this brand were not there, yet the hotel was charging full rate (~$250 per night). While I'd have to say the staff members were very nice, as well as our room, the entire sitting area downstairs was entirely boarded up, the workout room was unavailable, and the breakfast area only had a very limited menu of pre-made items. The price of a stay should have been much less since their normal amenities weren't available.

The HGI Oldsmar is one of my favorite hotels to stay at. They just got renovated and everything is brand new and beautiful. The location is awesome, not far from the airport and a bunch of really good restaurants are within a 2 minute drive and a few you can even walk to. The staff is so friendly and welcoming and they have a delicious breakfast.

Back home from vacation and now have time to gather my thoughts about The Schooner Motel. When we first arrived the was a VERY LOUD and rough crowd, drinking, smoking and being extremely rowdy. They had taken over one room, the small patio and the pool area. My wife was very concerned about safety. Being very tired from our trip we entered our room, while expecting an ”Old Florida” room it was not what I expected. First impression dirty stove, broken window blinds, burnt out bulb in bathroom, interesting puddle of water in the shower floor, sliding door to patio would not open, all said a little tired and worn. Oh and on the door there is a sign stating there will be no daily maid service and, I guess. if you need fresh bed linens ask and make the bed yourself. And can't forget the interesting sign above the sink ”If you leave dirty dishes you will be charged a $30 fee”. I had booked my stay through Expedia and upon arrival received a questionnaire from them wanting to know how things were going. Gave good review on two of the three questions. The bad review was based on the rowdy group of guest and room conditions. Now things get weird. The next afternoon as we returned to our room we were confronted by the owner / manager wanting to know why we gave him the bad review. While he didn't bother me he made my wife very uncomfortable. She said he seemed more concerned about the review than trying to make things right. He stated he was aware of the crowd but it was ”Big Game Night” and that was OK. I think his goal it to become an extended stay motel rather the a vacation location. All said I can not recommend the property and will probably not stay again. Was overpriced for what we got

I received a call at 2:15pm the day we were to check in. The woman asked what time we would be checking in and I told her 6pm. She said ok, take your time. We arrived at 6pm to a locked and empty office. My husband and I both started calling the number it said to call on the door. It went straight to voicemail after an automated message said someone was on the phone and to leave a message. We left numerous messages and called even more times. My husband went into the gate trying to find someone but no one was around. At 7pm, we gave up and got another room since we were exhausted and it was chilly out. My husband to a video showing there was no one there and no one answered. At 8pm we get another call from the hotel asking us when we were checking in. I told the man on the phone that we were checking in 2 hours ago like we told the woman at 2:15pm. I told the man that we were forced to get another place and I wasn't dealing with that at the moment. The next day I called the hotel and told him what happened. He told me that it was impossible because someone is always there and someone always answers the phone. He said he didn't get any messages which was a lie. I told him I could come show him the number of times we called and the video my husband took. Realizing that he wasn't going to get away with lying, he told me to contact ******* then. Ok I used booking but whatever. He hung up on me. I contacted booking and sent them the proof and they took care of it. I do not appreciate being lied to and it says a lot about the guy who works there and how he does ”business”.
