The room clearly shows its age, but that's not what's important. What *is* important is that the security guard at the entrance discriminates based on appearance. When we first arrived to check in, our car briefly stopped at the steps of the main entrance because we wanted to ask if there was an EV charging station. We were immediately yelled at by the guard. However, I noticed many other vehicles, including vans, parked haphazardly nearby, and none of them were being shooed away. After parking, we were asked for a 500 deposit during check-in. I don't really understand why the deposit was nearly the same as the room rate, which was just over 500. Previously, when I stayed for several days at the Jumeirah, the deposit was only 1000.
