The hotel is located in the very center of the City. Big public parking in front. Indeed, there were some modernization works that were underway and it was a bit disturbing, but the staff apologized for the inconvenience. I understand that the hotel will join the Ibis Styles chain and improvements must be made. I stayed in a modernized room and it looks very good. The breakfast was decent and sufficient. Fair price for the room, food and especially the central location. And free WiFi.

Practical room though it was rather small.

Quite a basic hotel. Had to ask at reception for the remote controls for the tv and aircon even though it was a boiling hot day. Only single bed duvet on a double bed (other duvet) in wardrobe - it’s as though they are trying to do everything to put guests off using the facility. Breakfast was quite good. Overall not bad value shame about the little annoyances.

One night stay while attending a music festival in town. the hotel is situated in the heart of the city and location is its greatest advantage. It does have 3 or 4 allotted parking spaces, obviously insufficient, but there is free public parking on the adjacent square (do check beforehand as I understand the local authorities want to implement taxes on the public parking). Our double room was spacious, clean and warm, but with some usability issues which need to be addressed. Sure, the WiFi password is prominently displayed at reception, but maybe you forget to take a picture of it and when you arrive late in the evening you don't want to go back down and get it. It clearly hasn't been changed from 2008 (when you see it, you'll understand) so having a small printed paper slip in the room could go a long way. The same goes for the breakfast schedule; there was a lot of other less useful information in the omnipresent folder. For instance, most guests would probably serve breakfast, while only a small number would solicit laundry services or room service. And stationery, envelope and branded letterhead... it's 2022, I wonder who still uses those; same question for the Yellow Pages, haven't seen one in over 20 years. Wall socket only on one side of the bed, not cool when you have to charge your phone overnight and have to get out of bed to snooze an alarm. There were also two chairs and an unusually low coffee table that would not be missed if they were to be removed entirely. If one were to use either chair it would block either one side of the bed or the balcony door completely. The mattress were a bit too soft for our preference, the bed quilt was for one person but luckily there was an extra one available in the closet so you don't have to quibble over night with your significant other. Good morning mood is always important ;) Noise insulation a bit poor, cars passing by on the road and chatty neighbouring guests are easily heard. Nice view of the square from the large balcony, which was carpeted, an uncommon but surprisingly cosy feature. Bathroom was roomy, but the shower was small, leaking water on the floor and showing some signs of mould at the joints. Good water pressure, quality towels, hard to use toiletries. Waiting for a viscous shower gel to pour from a hard plastic small bottle will give that extra time for reflection while taking a shower. And can we get rid of the little round soaps and replace them with refillable dispensers instead? They generate a lot of waste as I'm sure a very high percentage of the guests do not get to consume them. Breakfast was pretty basic, your usual scrambled/boiled eggs, some pastries, some veggies, yoghurt, decent coffee machines, you'll find something if you're not too fussy. I haven't come across this practice in a long time (very likely the same time when the Yellow Pages were a thing), but probably there is a booming black market for TV and AC remotes since you receive them when you check in and ha
