On arrival we were greeted with an effluent pipe spewing onto the pavement - this was left uncleared for the duration of our stay. The main building has as much charm as a 1970’s multi story car park! We had to wait to check in as we had an early flight, though we’re able to change in what felt like a staff locker room. Eventually we were shown to our room which was adequate at best, the bathroom was the size of a cupboard with poor lighting, rusty fittings and dirty grout and the shower drain was blocked and took an age to empty. We heard what we thought was an alarm going off but soon realised it was the air conditioning unit. We raised this with reception who were dismissive and not at all interested. They said they would get an engineer the next day - we returned from a day out to find this had not happened - reception didn’t bother to tell us. I then escalated the matter to the Jet2 Holiday helper who took over 24 hours to respond and when she did turn up she was inept and of little use - other than clearly criticising in Italian, us for complaining. We had two sleepless nights and were eventually moved to another room with a quiet air conditioning system. The overall feel of the hotel is one of tiredness - lamps blown and not changed, stains on carpets in the hallways, rusty bathroom fittings and rusty balconies. The breakfast buffet is certainly not 4 star standard with mostly tinned fruit on offer and leftover vegetables from the previous nights dinner 🤮. The only cereals available are very high sugar content pre-packed and of poor quality. The only good thing about breakfast was the coffee, once you reached the front of the long queues to get to it. The pool area is small with just six sunbeds. The garden area is quite pleasant but as guests in the main block we are not allowed to use the sunbeds, though we could pay an additional 40.00 Euros to use the hotel sunbeds on the beach. At no time during the booking process with Jet2 was this made clear. Overall we are extremely disappointed with the hotel which at best is a 3 star. The restaurant and housekeeping staff are very pleasant. The reception staff less so - and once they realised we had left a review on Trip Advisor they made no effort whatsoever. If it were my choice alone we would have flown home rather than stay in this AWFUL hotel.
