Hotel Villas Plat

As we were moving with a rental car, it was preferred to have a hotel outside of Dubrovnik busy centre. Price was the main driver of choosing this hotel and overall I was satisfied with the selection. But don't expect any luxury, you pretty much get what you pay for. Breakfast was of average level but got the job done. Waterbus connection to the old town of Dubrovnik is a very good idea, check their timetables from the reception and also talk with the guy in the pier so that they really make this stop at Plat pier which wasn't the case with us. However this got sorted as we were not in any rush. The pool area was not in use which was a downer as it looked nice in the photos. Sound proof is not the best possible in the rooms as it's a rather old building. TV didn't work properly at all and the quality of signal was a trip back to the 80's from the current HD TV era. No lift and lots of stairs which some visitors may find problematic. The bar was cheap and decent to have a drink in the evening. But all in all a considerable budget option some 20mins drive away from Dubrovnik, you may end up paying 2-3 times more in some downtown hotel easily.

So bad words aren't enough to describe it. Food was cold dry and tasteless. I would rather starve. No free wifi. There is no free water to drink even in the restaurant with the food plus it's expensive. And the pics are nothing like the Rooms. There is a literal piss stain under the sink. Bare minimum is the definition. This hotel is the sole reason I won't ever consider coming to Dubrovnik again.

Staff at the property extremely friendly and helpful, property was clean and in a quiet location. Breakfast options could have been more varied, toaster would be great! Only real downside was the sun bed situation - guests would leave their towels to reserve beds so other guests could not use, for the whole week only managed to find a free bed once!

Great spot that is just very outdated and worn out. Location is amazing but everything is showing it’s age. Bathrooms at the pool and rooms and rough. Restaurant was dirty with spider webs and dirt along the blinds. Location had so much potential. Saltwater pool with the view is awesome but most of the chairs were broken.

The only negative thing about this place was that the rooms need to be updated. The rooms are kept clean, front desk personnel is excellent. Restaurant service and food is excellent. We stayed the first night and last night of our trip in the hotel, we got there late at night and the kitchen was already closed, the waiter told us that he can order food from a different restaurant for us nearby, something that he didn’t had to do but he still offered that option for what we were very thankful. Even though I saw some bad reviews like for example the breakfast buffet was cold, grumpy old man behind the buffet never smiles, water in the pool to salty, staff is not helpful ect. I still gave this place a chance for the reviews that loved the view and I was not disappointed. The pastries in the buffet were made fresh and my food was not cold. Obviously if you get there late for breakfast the food will get cold, older gentleman behind the buffet was pulite, and the pool. You have a pool, at least two beaches nearby which you can see from some of the balconies. Planty of parking, besides the restaurant in the complex there is an other grate restaurant in walking distance which also had plenty of parking if you ate to tired to walk there and deside to drive. That restaurant has grate food and reviews but you have to make a reservation days before. We tried to eat there on a saturday but were told that there is no availability until tuesday. Renovation aside, excellent place.
