First off, I had a feeling that any hotel in eclipse path was going to get overwhelmed during eclipse weekend. Having said that, we checked in the Saturday before, and things went smooth, no lines or crowds. I was like "ok, so far so good". Then went downhill from there. Our room had no working light above the bathroom . I even attempted to change the bulb myself. When I asked the front desk if they had a bulb, they said they had to order it due to being the older style fluorescent bulbs. Apparently they never converted the fixtures to LED's. Also our shower valve had apparently been installed reversed, meaning hot was cold, and cold was hot. They even P-touched the valve to remind you. It was tricky to find the sweet spot because you had to barely turn on the valve to get both hot water and adequate pressure. Then, the "free" breakfast. This had to be the worst free breakfast I ever had. Not even a waffle machine. There were individually wrapped waffles that you put into the toaster. And on the morning of the eclipse where it was most crowded, they ran out of coffee, food was cold, only 1 person working the breakfast and the front desk. No organization at all. I could have walked across the street to the Hampton Inn and had their breakfast. I'm glad I only paid $360 for 2 nights only because I booked it a year in advance. I can't imagine what people paying over $500/ night must think. The only shining "light" during this entire stay was Mark at the front desk who was very friendly and helpful.
