Dreamplace Bocayna Village

A charming and well thought out bungalow village set back from the road. The bungalow was clean and welcoming. In the fridge was a plate of sweet treats, which was a lovely welcome. We were all inclusive and there was a wide range of freshly prepared food at each service. The waiting staff were very friendly and extremely helpful, as were the reception staff, who assisted us with trip planning. The village wasn’t on the seafront, but was within easy walking distance. It is definitely a place we would return to

Extremely helpful staff, sourced a wheelchair for my mother. Any problem was dealt with swiftly and sorted straight away. Cannot fault restaurant staff, very friendly and helpful.

We had a very pleasant stay in Dreamplace BV. Hotel is located slightly aside Playa Blanca, within 30 -45 minutes walking distance, 10 minutes drive to Papagayo beach. Bars and shop within 10 minutes walking distance. The location was ideal for us. Bungalow, the standard one, was spacious and clean, bed comfortable, 2 bathrooms (one large), basic TV with 5 English language channels. Continental breakfast similar to other hotels, but dinner was really good with a choice of 5 different courses every evening. Seafood, meat and vegetarian options. It was nice, guests were expected to dress semi-smart for the dinner. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Definitely recommend.

The positive about this hotel are the rooms, although the beds are not comfy and the ceiling fans barely do a job if it’s hot. Made service is only every other day and they don’t clean the kitchen area. The kitchen facilities are basic at best. We went all inclusive and honestly only managed one evening meal and one lunch. We made do with breakfast. The alcoholic drinks are not great, and the soft drinks are cheap horrible pump versions, not good quality. Tbh, cheap is the best description of everything despite it not being cheap to stay. It’s in a quiet location so you must be prepared to walk or pay for taxis for any sign of life. There is no entertainment at the hotel at all. Other reviews are positive about the staff, we didn’t find them particularly helpful or wonderful. There is a real shortage of staff at mealtimes. The pool and bar areas are fine, but again, chairs and sun beds need a refresh. Basic. Photos make it look nicer than reality. We asked for a late checkout on our first day to secure the request (cost of 49 euros) as we had a late flight and two kids in tow. We were told no problem, see us on the day before you go. We were then told it was fully booked. Funnily enough though - if I went online, I could book a room with the hotel!? The shower room for if you have a late checkout is disgusting and there is no luggage room, you have to leave your belongings in reception. We actually ended up checking out a day early and stayed at another hotel where they could accommodate us. It was worth every penny as we benefitted nothing from the hotel as the all inclusive was a complete waste of money.

We was overwhelmed with the location, the size of the bungalow the meals the staff was above excellence, we are going to revisit in September, it’s at the top of our list one of the best relaxing holiday we have ever had, this is the place to go to wind down relax and be totally stress free.

This accommodation was just what we needed after my health scare and retirement from work. It was clean, quiet and had two suitably sized bedrooms, two shower rooms, open plan living room & kitchen dining area. Along with these positives, we had a large sun terrace, plunge pool and sitting area, the downside to this area is if there are three or four people staying at this particular accommodation you only have two sun loungers, which is not enough for all to lounge in the sun? We cannot fault any of the staff, they are all friendly and very helpful, the dining room is large and the food choice is sufficient. The other down side to this accommodation is that the choice of drinks is very limited at the only bar which is at the pool and it was only open from 3pm until 11pm (it suited us but may not suit everyone). Despite the minor issues mentioned, we will return and probably with a third person if we can be guaranteed three sun loungers on the terrace and not just two?

Pros: All staff were extremely friendly, helpful & polite. Bungalow was spacious, clean & comfortable. Air-con in main bungalow area, ceiling fans in both rooms. Terrace area clean & spacious All inclusive help yourself bar was quick & easy. Good selection of food at breakfast & dinner time. Cons: Pool could do with a deep clean & a freshen up. Not all of the outside showers worked. Not all of the ladies toilet lights worked (poolside). Electrics need checking in main bedroom of bungalow 38 (ceiling fan worked intermittently when the switch was pressed in the right spot) Front door opened by itself from time to time Lunchtime service very slow, need more staff during these hours. Daytime snacks could do with a lot of improvement. All in all a lovely quiet hotel, no evening entertainment but music played in the bar via a radio. Not far away from playa blanca beach & about 45 minutes on the bus to purto del Carmen

Couldn't find fault with anything, All the staff were very friendly and helpful, everywhere was clean. The food was excellent. We had a luxury two bedroom bungalow which had plenty of room with a nice size patio. The place was fully booked at the time but was peaceful and quiet. Great place for a relaxing holiday. Playa blanca town was a couple of miles pleasant walk along the coastal path, very nice there. Wouldn't hesitate to return to here again.

We have stayed at La Bocanya several time now ,the space and peacefulness suits us.The evening meal has definitely improved and the restaurant staff are happy and efficient.My husband is recovering from major surgery and the relaxing atmosphere was great for him and me. Thank you we will be back
