This is a good budget complex with everything you need for a self catering break, but with the option of breakfast, drinks and snacks if needed. The apartments are clean but could use some updating and maintenance especially in the kitchen, and we also had a few issues with the bathroom when the shower flooded, but the reception quickly got this sorted for us and provided fresh towels too. There is a great little shop on site, well priced, which also has a little ‘swap shop’ area which is a great idea where you can leave stuff for other visitors to use when you leave. Highlight of the trip is Pica the mini club and event organiser who kept all the kids busy over Halloween with Trick or treating and pumpkin carving fun. Pools are very cold and children’s slide area gets a bit slippy as the day goes on so be aware. The indoor pool is heated but adults only and is a nice area to get a bit of quiet and relaxation. The jacuzzi was too cold though. The complex is about a ten minute walk from the main playa blanca strip and Dorada beach and there are supermarkets near also. You have to give deposits on arrival for the air con, tv remote and safe so this can be a bit confusing and the locks on the door and windows were a bit tricky to get used to. I can’t fault any of the staff especially the cleaners and maintenance people they were so busy all day long and everyone on the complex was very friendly.

This is a really lovely hotel, positioned on the eastern side of Playa Blanca and very convenient for the beautiful beaches at Papagayo and for main roads to other parts of the island. It's around 15 minutes walk to the town centre by the main road or (best route) along the prom from Playa Dorada and there are supermarkets nearby. The site is well laid out and planted with mature ficus and palm trees (at dusk every day tiny birds came to sing in the tree overhanging my balcony). The rooms are large, unfussy and spotlessly clean and have private terraces or balconies. The are staff mostly very friendly, particularly the younger receptionists who are excellent - and trilingual in French, Spanish and English. Other reviews mentioned the noise from the entertainment, so I sent a message to the hotel asking for a quiet room. I was placed in the 'Zen Zone', on the first floor away from the busy areas overlooking the quieter of the two pools and was very happy. The entertainment ends by 23:00 in any case. One review mentions holiday reps 'coming round' but I was left entirely alone and nobody came to the door during my stay except the lovely housekeeping team. The hotel is very popular with French families (no Brits at all) and the atmosphere is very friendly and civilised. No loud room parties or drunken staggering about late at night. friendly. There is a smart cafeteria serving meals on site but I booked room-only through Zen Hotels and got a very good rate. There's a kettle and fridge in the room and lots of great places to eat catering for all tastes in and around Playa Blanca. I hired a car from Payless and they delivered and collected the car to/from the hotel. The weather wasn't entirely brilliant during my stay but I was happy to be at the hotel or driving around the island sight-seeing. Will definitely return to the Royal.
Labranda Alyssa Suite Hotel

We chose the hotel because we were looking for accommodation with some private space to relax without needing to be around the pool. Each apartment has two sun beds and a table and chairs which suits our needs. The apartments are of a good standard and are well maintained as is the hotel in general. The grounds are very attractive and the pool area is pleasant although there are slightly too many sun beds meaning they are really too close together. We chose half board accommodation but I think we would opt for All inclusive if we visit again. Breakfast is fine with the normal variety. People found the toasters very slow but overall we found breakfast perfectly acceptable. Evening meals were varied but on some occasions we found it difficult to find an acceptable combination. Staff in the hotel are all very friendly and service was always good. Minor gripes - we found the bed very firm. TV channels are limited but we weren't there to watch tv anyway. Tea and coffee wasn't replenished during our stay. Overall we like the hotel and would go again.

I had the pleasure of staying at the Elba Hotel for three unforgettable nights, and I must say, it exceeded all expectations. While I consider myself easy to please, the staff's professionalism left a lasting impression. Every interaction was marked by warmth, efficiency, and genuine care, making me feel like a valued guest at every turn. It’s rare to encounter such consistent excellence, but the team at Elba Hotel pulled it off effortlessly. A truly delightful experience from start to finish!
Princesa Yaiza Suite Hotel Resort

From the moment you arrive you feel welcomed by the friendly staff. Our suite was expansive, set in a traditional style, with everything you needed. Complimentary water was replenished each day and there was a fridge, microwave and kettle. The hotel was spotless and the cleaning staff kept on top of everything daily. There are quality products in the bathroom including soaps, shampoo, conditioners and shower gels. If you need anything extra you order it on an in- house app and it’s brought to your room. A nice touch is a daily turn down service in the evenings with a complimentary chocolate left on your pillow. The rooms have differing views and the better ones are pool and sea views. We contacted customer relations during our stay with a request which was helpfully accommodated and much appreciated. The location is superb and you can enjoy long walks in either direction along the promenade. The on site restaurants are great. We ate in the Italian and also paid a small supplement to eat breakfast one day in the sea front restaurant. The buffet style breakfasts are also well catered with friendly staff who are very accommodating. There is a beach directly in front of the hotel but also a beautiful pool area if you don’t want to venture too far. Christmas is a big deal at the hotel with a HUGE Christmas tree in reception. There is a complimentary annual production to mark the turning on of the Christmas lights and it’s quite a spectacle. The production has dancing, singing and a magician and it feels quite special. I can’t do it justice in my review! Our stay was perfect. Thank you to the friendly staff at the hotel for making it so.

Well what can I say! Yes it's slightly outdated but really nice place to stay. The food was fine, lots of choices. Yes rooms seen better days but very clean. The staff are friendly and always say Hola with a smile. There's chefs cooking food in front of the holiday makers in the dining area. The pool was absolutely freezing 🥶 It's a great place to stay, very quiet. There's alot of elderly people but I'm guessing it's the time of year. There's a lovely receptionist called Sabrina who we met at 9pm on day of arrival. They had kindly saved us dinner, she took us to the dinner area once we'd put out cases in our room. There was no rushing us,it was a lovely welcome. Didn't hang around for any entertainment so can't comment on that. The animation staff around the pool are lovely. All round I'd definitely recommend this hotel at a very reasonable price for some lovely hot weather.
