HM Balanguera Beach - Adults Only

Small room but it's good. Hard to find a place to part but bed is big and nice.

It was a pleasant stay!

The hotel appears quite trendy and cool but then when you scratch the surface, it’s glaringly obvious no one knows what’s going on or seems to care… On check in not given any info, not told about safe, towels, or meal times… wasn’t even asked for credit card to be able to charge to room! One key card didn’t work, went back to reception to face an argument to get it replaced as they said “it’s fine on the computer, I will show you and let’s go to your room” I said no my husband is asleep and please change the key card! Eventually she did, never EVER had an argument to change a key card in ANY HOTEL in the world!! The rooms are quite small and rough around edges, peeling paper, damaged curtains, wonky plug sockets, floor in shower peeling… just sad and tired, no where really to put anything and no where to really get ready other than the little bathroom area one at a time! Our air con didn’t work, reported to reception and again told “it does work but I’ll have someone check it” it didn’t work properly all week! But we were told hotel full so had to put up with it. Sky bar supposed to be open till midnight but it closed daily at 7pm. Bar by pool, was hit or miss if you got served as not always tended. Seemed to be no staff as the same few people were there every day… Food was okay, but not great and Christ alive don’t dare ask what something is! Cava at breakfast was nice touch, but they allowed people to just pour goblets of it with no issue, one lady daily filled huge wine glass around 5 times and stumbled around, no one said a word!! One member of staff was permanently miserable and surly, never wore a name badge so don’t know her name, but when you ask for a drink and get it slammed down or “huh” and walk off when ordering she seemed to enjoy being rude to guests.. bizarre. There were three staff that were excellent and seemed to make up for the others slackness Jose & Ronald on bars and Erika in restaurant. Really disappointed given the reviews to have such a lacklustre stay. Even on checkout no one even asked if we’d enjoyed our stay? I even had to ask to see the bill then was told “you have to pay now” Never greeted when coming back into hotel, it was an effort for them to acknowledge guests in general. This hotel is 3* at best
