HD Parque Cristobal Gran Canaria

We've just returned from a lovely family holiday, here and wanted to thank all of the people working at HD Parque Cristobal for all of their hard work to make this place special. From the team on the front desk, to the cleaners, to the bar and restaurant staff - you guys work hard. You never stop, and you deliver a great experience for your guests. We had an Emblem Room with a hot tub in the garden. It was fantastic. 100% recommend. Special thanks and praise to Ricardo, and Dianet in the Emblem restaurant who did a great job looking after us every night, and put up with / even improved my attempts at speaking Spanish with them. Pools are great, albeit a little cold. Kids enjoyed the Amimacion activities - special thanks for Angel here. Having two play parks onsite kept our two girls really busy too. Recommend this place for younger families. Our girls were 7 and almost 4 and it was perfect for them. We would book again.

Me and my husband stayed here for a week all inclusive and loved it. The bungalows are amazing they have thought of everything. The bed was huge and so comfortable. There was 2 showers so no waiting if your getting ready to go out. The bungalow was absolutely immaculate and we loved the double sunbed on the terrace and the canapy. The food was also excellent. I'm a very picky eater and there wasn't anything I didn't try it was perfect. The staff were also very pleasant and polite. Although we didn't have any children with us we could see there was loads to do for them. We will definitely return thank you for a lovely holiday

We had a great stay at this hotel for two weeks. 1. Disability access was great for the main pool, the whole site is flat, small steps into and out of the bungalows (they even installed a ramp for the mobility buggy hire) and you could request to hire additional aids to make the stay more comfortable, there was a lift going to the spa and the sports bar. The only downside is that the shower (wet room style) was VERY slippery when wet. My little one had to wear his water shoes in the shower and my father did have an unfortunate slip and head butted the shower screen, this could definitely use some improvement for those with limited mobility (or for young children). 2. There seemed to be a lot going on for children, sadly they need to be 4+ to take part which was unfortunate as our little one would have loved to have joined in with the activities or the colouring but the kids club was only open for short periods of time during the day. The mini disco most evenings could do with more of a mixture as it was very repetitive (more dances/musical statues/simon says/little competitions for the children etc). 3. The staff were lovely, happy to help, very friendly and always interacted with the children and customers. 4. Lunch and evenings meals were a little disappointing. Very repetitive and I wouldn’t say they were great for younger children as a lot of the vegetables were often quite hard. Some of the labelling was non-existent or hard to understand, which having a child with a severe nut allergy (and also a child that is dairy free), it was often difficult to judge what could be eaten. That being said, there was lots of fresh fruit available at each meal (it would be nice if some of this was available throughout the day for snacks as our little one often missed lunch in the main restaurant and he didn’t particularly like the fast food style from the other restaurant), the breakfast was always really tasty and the bbq night was the best meal of the week (which we sadly missed on the first Friday as we had no idea it was being cooked outside and had a very disappointing meal as it was mainly fish options and no-one made us aware). 5. Laundry-pay 4 euro for a 30 min wash and the machines were full of black mould in the dispenser and around the door seal. I reported this to reception by asking whether the machines were cleaned and the reply was “that’s a good question”). Unfortunately I don’t believe this feedback prompted any action. 6. The whole site is cashless (apart from the spa), this should be advised upon booking as we only brought cash. 7. The bands for the keys were fab, no stress in trying to find your key card or key and you always have them attached. 8. The lifeguard did an amazing job whilst we were away. A little girl was running, slipped and banged her head in the pool but he was on it and potentially saved her life. I definitely felt safe knowing they were on it. The tiles around the pool are very slippery and get very hot

Clean rooms, excellent maid service. All staff and entertainers have excellent customer service. Very clean and great food! Like everywhere now all inclusive isn’t what it says it is, you do have to pay extra if you want extra, I.e cocktails or to eat a la carte but to be honest, I’m not a drinker and food in main buffet is good. All toddlers and children have all had happy smiles as gave their parents!

We stayed here for a week in May and have mixed feelings about the hotel, but wouldn’t return. My main issue was the difference between ‘normal’ all inclusive and emblem. I felt this was unnecessary and all guests should have the the same experience all inclusive. People were treat very differently in the main restaurant even just entering- for example, my kids were upset as they didn’t get lolly’s on several occasions- but emblem kids did. Did they need a separate check in desk with a seat, no. My main plus was the kids club/entertainment team. My kids 6 and 2 absolutely loved the team. Mini disco was fab, kids club for my 6 year old was also fab, she loved it so thanks to the entertainers. My only thing was that the app wasn’t always correct, quite a few activities my daughter wanted to do didn’t go ahead. Entertainment- on the whole was really poor. The singer sang older songs which at a family hotel was not great. The Latin night was a disco- not Latin night. Vegas night was one game of play your cards right essentially. The Broadway show was good downstairs at the ocean bar and the outside show group was amazing. Really poor in comparison to other all inclusive entertainment. Pool- all pool areas great. Very clean, sun beds good. You do need cash for sunbed hire though. Lifeguards attentive but be warned the pools are very cold! Not heated in the slightest. Food - breakfast was amazing. Really good choice, breads pancakes waffles - best meal of the day. Snack bar really poor. Pre made burgers and hotdogs- as they stood the buns became rock hard. Very little choice to be honest. Italian Al a carte, 50:50. My husbands meal was really good, my pasta was so bland and inedible even with copious amounts of seasoning. Puddings we’re literally a mouthful and no alcohol included which is really poor when your all inclusive! Main restaurant hit and miss. Some nights great, others really poor. Lots and lots of fish. Bbq night was just ok. Puddings poor and ice cream in tubs- felt this was a letdown at actual mealtimes. Liked the penguin plates, and the kids section was a hit. Waiters and waitresses were lovely. Drinks- liked that several self serve machines around hotel, this was great. However cocktail menu for all inclusive again poor- much better choice for emblem…. Rooms- our bungalow was fab. Huge two bedrooms, living room and kitchen part. Loved that sun beds outside bungalow to soak up sun when kids asleep/ playing. We paid for kids den room which was a hit with our kids. Did have ants around outside and in kitchen- told reception, they didn’t do anything. Room was 10/10 Had really high hopes for this hotel, would be better self catering as felt the all inclusive was poor for the cost. If you want a good pool/kids club go here, if you want good food/entertainment choose elsewhere.
