The online pictures are lovely, and the back garden was in bloom, all beautiful, but they do not show that the front of the hotel is directly on the highway. The staff were friendly and courteous. Be aware that the added destination fees, occupancy tax and taxes add about 25% to your posted room rate, which at $425/night ($525 with fees and taxes) is already unreasonably high for the small size and quality of room, but hey, it’s California, and the price includes a “free” bottle of house wine. The back side of the hotel faces west, so you get the full brunt of the afternoon sun, and there is no air conditioning. In order to keep the room cool, you need to pull the very heavy drapes closed and close off your only view of the garden. The small deck outside the French doors was a nice idea, but there is no privacy from deck to deck, and you are visible and within hearing of adjacent guests, and if you open your back windows and doors for breeze and garden view, you hear everything going on in the adjacent rooms/decks. There is a no noise policy. The parking is very tight so you have to be pretty careful with opening car doors, and there didn’t seem to be quite enough spaces. The room itself was OK, there was no TV, and the hotel WiFi is not the fastest, but then again the entire area is without decent cell coverage. Perhaps that’s a good thing if you like the isolation and beauty of the area and you don’t want to listen to what your neighbor is listening to. The bathroom, right inside the front door, was up two steps from the bedroom area, there should be a nightlight or illumination there to prevent falls. The bathroom itself was so small that you could not put down the bath mat and open the door at the same time. Nice Amenities for shampoo, etc. The shower enclosure in our room was designed in a way that you cannot avoid getting wet while turning on and getting into the shower, or getting in and then turning on the shower. Half glass, half shower curtain, odd set-up, but designed to make the best of a small space. However, the shower spray had great pressure and water was hot. The sink didn’t drain, I had to remove the stopper to get the water to drain just brushing teeth. There was a small amount of black mold in the shower. Interesting glass wall/window in the shower area with a wooden blind on the bedroom side, but if you are thinking of sleeping in while your partner showers, forget it. The restaurant is located in a separate building accessed by walking outdoors through the parking area, hope it’s not raining! Separate review for our truly mediocre meal there albeit conveniently located and the best available locally. An associated convenience store/market on the far side of the restaurant has breakfast burritos, sandwiches, a few pastries, fruit and coffee. Only outdoor tables. All in all, a convenient location, but overpriced and lacking in several ways that mean I would probably consider driving a little further, perhaps to st

My 2 girlfriends and I LOVED the Casa Olema cottage and had the best time! This charming small hotel in the Point Reyes seashore area is a gem. When we checked in, we received a nice bottle of wine and a S'Mores To-Go box. A lovely firepit awaited us after our dinner and we enjoyed our s'mores and other treats. This is a PERFECT getaway from the hustle and bustle of our daily lives. Oh, eat at Due West Tavern next door. The BEST food and service!

For the price we expected some level of elegance, and what we got was very basic. Not even a table in the room, or a chair we could sit on. Beautiful property, but that's all this place had to offer. Online description noted indoor and outdoor games, and s'mores. Well, there was a chess set in a space off the lobby. Not even tables inside or out to play the games we brought. No snacks to go with the teabag coffee in the lobby in the mornings. So disappointing.

I really don’t need 200 words to say wonderful in all ways. It was absolutely wonderful in all ways. The staff was great and the food was great. Why do I have to write 200 words? Is this a school assignment?

Olema House was a perfect stay. The room was beautiful. Tamra made sure everything we needed for our celebratory weekend was in the room upon arrival. We had an issue with the heat but Kyle took care of it immediately! The neighboring restaurant was delicious. We’ll be back!

I stayed in the Casa Olema with two friends March 5-6. The stay was amazing! The Casa Olema is a separate cottage with a well-appointed kitchenette, a private back garden area complete with a gas fire pit. The main room was beautifully decorated with everything we could need at hand. Comfortable beds and a super nice bathroom. I judge a hotel first on cleanliness, comfortable mattress, and great shower, and this had all of those, along with wonderful staff and a terrific setting. Will definitely be back!!

My husband and I spent 1 incredible night at Olema House during our 20 year anniversary trip. The rooms are beautifully updated and the property along a trickling creek is truly magical. The staff was amazing and provided a complementary upgrade and a bottle of wine. Embrace the peaceful location and definitely eat at the restaurant, you won’t be disappointed!

My wife and I recently stayed at Olema House on the outskirts of Pt. Reyes National Seashore. This is as perfect a couples getaway spot as can be. The hotel is beautifully appointed, the staff are friendly, courteous and helpful (and fun!) and the location is perfect for day trips into the park. We stayed in one of their Drake Suites with a balcony that overlooks the back of the property. Each evening we were serenaded (treated!) to owl calls, coyotes howling and even a few bats which zipped past us (my wife wasn’t too thrilled with that but I was!). On the hillside behind the hotel we could watch herds of tule elk grazing and even coyotes trooping along. Because there aren’t TVs in the room to dull the mind, we got a chance to read, play board games and generally unwind from this crazy world. If you have a desire to visit Pt. Reyes and want a luxury hotel, please book a room at Olema House. You’ll be glad you did.
