Peace Guest House

Truly horrible, one of the worst places I've ever seen and I've been travelling for 16 years, done 84 countries. It's not even a building but a bunch of plywood hovels perched on a mountain. Nobody cleans, full stop, as by owner's own admission. Hot water simply non existent and it's winter in Nepal right now. Filthy constantly flooded shared bathroom, no toilet paper(or whatever else for that matter)provided. Worn-out uneven foam mattress, disgusting bed linen, ripped and covered in all sorts of stains, holes in the carpet, bugs, slowest internet in Nepal, zero maintenance whatsoever, ridiculous lack of care. A climb up a steep street and several flights of stairs to reach it. Ask the owner about busses and he'll give you prices a third higher than they are. He's just sitting and smoking all day, collecting money people are paying for his slum. I had booked 5 nights but left after the second one, sleepless and showerless, he still charged me 3 nights. Shameful behaviour, shameful premises, not fit for humans. For the same money I'm now in the centre of Lakeside in a double room with private bathroom, 24/7 unlimited hot water, towels, excellent Wi-Fi, closet, table and chairs, windows, shared garden, all super clean and super well kept, lovely hard working family who owns the place.
