The staff are excellent, very friendly and ensure your stay is enjoyable. The rooms in the hotel need updating; I would not choose to stay at the hotel again due to the rooms being quite basic for a 4*, and no safe in the room either. The restaurant area is nice. The bar area could do with an open fire, which would be in keeping with the property and, due to the bar's location can be quite cool. I found the lockers difficult to use; there are no instructions when trying to use them, only in the reception area. I did ask someone to show me, but they were too busy apparently, so I asked another customer to help me. There was no concession for late checkout on New Year's Day; however, upon request, this was granted. You also have to book for breakfast; therefore, on New Year's Day, I had to get up for 9 am to go down to breakfast, which was not ideal. I had paid for the trip online when I booked; however, when I came to checkout, I was charged the full amount again and was informed that there was no log that I had already paid, but when we arrived and checked in, it was acknowledged that I had paid, it was a good job that I had the email displaying that I had paid. Upon further investigation by the hotel, it was noted that I had paid. I thought that I had read somewhere that there was an option for a set menu for NYE, but al a carte was still an option however this was not the case. The food was ok. The stay was made better due to the friendliness of the bar and restaurant staff, all credit to them.

We went for a weekend and were very disappointed, first off I booked a ground floor room because of mobility issues only to be given a room that needed three flights of stairs to negotiate. The wonderful receptionist soon sorted that out. However, the hotel itself is not old and tired it’s completely exhausted. Rooms resemble a 1970s Ikea display, , there is no safe in the rooms and no fridge. but the beds were comfy. Breakfast was a buffet and because there wasn’t a high turnover everything was cold, Food at the hotel is expensive, I ordered a ham and mustard sandwich and had to pay £8 for stale bread and they forgot the mustard. We did use the spa and it was nice, clean and with helpful staff In conclusion, the hotel badly needs to be modernised but the staff are great

We come here every year for a couple of nights and we always get lovely customer service. The pool and spa facilities are especially smart, and the breakfast is very good too. The rooms are decent - a little tired, maybe, but fine.

Hotel is very tired throughout, in need of a major refurbishment. The spa is nice however and treatments/staff were lovely. As other reviews have noted the pool showers have been out of order for months and when we asked the spa staff when they would be fixed they laughed "who knows". Small things in the leisure facilities too like relacing missing tiles and fixing loose beaches in the sauna would be an easy fix for a handyman. Our room was located next to a fire door and the gap under our room door meant it was quite noisy with people coming and going. The bedding was also dirty (which reception did change for us on request) however when we brought this to the receptionist's attention she didn't apologise and just said "I'll arrange to have it changed for you". Overall everything was okay, but I wouldn't be in a rush to recommend to anyone else unless a major investment is put into the place.

Well… absolute joke since the moment we arrived. Me and my friend attended for a spa day. Took 15 minutes for a member of staff to attend to us whilst we waited for our spa day. We were asked if we wanted to add on any more 25 min treatments for £25, we said yes. Got changed into our robes and awaited for our therapists to come and get us. Had my facial whilst in a freezing cold room, the heated bed was not turned on, it wasn’t until near the end of the treatment she turned the heating on (albeit room was still cold as takes time to heat up) and then my back massage which was the treatment added on at reception. Half way through my massage whilst I’m lying on the bed with just my pants on, someone walks in and tells the therapist I haven’t booked 2 appts so to stop, so I’m told “that’s you done, you haven’t booked in for 2 treatments” - obviously said I had, and I’m told to speak with someone at reception. I’ve asked where my friend is and I’m taken into the relaxation room to find she’s had an accident! She had slipped on spilt water in the room and landed on her back (she has just had back surgery a few months ago!) with no wet sign signage anywhere. We waited here for about an hour for the accident form (they gave her a bag of ice for her back) and then were taken to a seat at reception to fill it out which was at the doors so pretty cold as you can imagine as we’re still only wearing our underwear and robe. This takes some time, by then we’re nearing 12noon and have been here since 9am and all we’ve had is 1 treatment (and a half!) and haven’t even stepped foot in the pool yet. Lunch was booked for 12. We managed a quick 15 mins in the pool and then went for lunch. (Food was good hence the 1 star) but the service and lack of manners or respect from the spa staff was utter bollocks tbh. What was meant to be a rare relaxing day without our kids was just a rushed, stressful, day. The manager did give us vouchers back which we used at another Macdonald’s hotel in Uphall which was amazing!

Right from the first contact the special events team were helpful and compassionate following the shut down of our initial wedding venue. It was clear from the very beginning that we were in great hands.  This great service continued all the way through the planning stage with various check ins and updates. Fiona, Kate and Kathryn always put my mind at ease whenever I had questions.  Upon check in on the day before, we were greeted by Megan and Paige and got a lovely welcome and reassured that they would be taking care of us. About 25 of us were staying the Friday night as well and owing to other bookings in the restaurant there was no space for us all to eat. Paige arranged for the Errol Suite to be converted to host a private meal which was really great of her. On the morning of the wedding things were as smooth as the day before, despite the hotel being busy with breakfast and check outs. Nothing was too much hassle for the staff and a breakfast set up for the bridal party was much appreciated. From moving the bridal party dresses to the Kelpies Suite, to regular check ins and showing pictures of how the Menteith Suite was looking, as well as calmly dealing with a broken cake topper, Fiona really helped ease my nerves on the wedding morning.  The whole wedding went perfectly. All staff at all times were so attentive and so well trained. During the running of the day Jack was fantastic. Nothing was too much trouble for him. We also want to give a mention to John the MC for his part in the day. He ensured our first introduction as Mr and Mrs Bathgate was entertaining, and that everyone at the top table knew what to do and where to go.  The following morning we really enjoyed our private breakfast for the wedding party and all check outs dealt with efficiently by Megan again.  The attentiveness of the staff as well as their training and confidence was really impressive. We would highly recommend Inchyra to anyone planning a wedding, and are so happy that we were given their name as a recommendation after our first venue closed down.

Me, my husband and our Bassett Hound Marco stayed here for seven days over Easter. The staff were exceptional; the service amazing and the hotel grounds beautiful. On top of this the food was delicious and the additional care given to Marco was unexpected and first class. We are planning to return and cannot recommend the Hotel highly enough. I attended a seminar at the hotel and thought I'd have lunch there. However, my experience of getting a coffee (£4.95, paper cup) put me right off. It was clear from body language and mutterings that the waitress would rather have been anywhere else than serving customers. The process of producing the coffees and getting them to customers was chaotic with people gathering around the single machine in the hope their drink would be produced. Another waitress wandered about with a coffee forlornly looking for it's owner. A 50p sized biscuit was available from a jar if you specifically asked. After finishing my drink, I made my excuses rather than risk lunch.

From our first visit to this venue we were sold! Not only is it a beautiful hotel but the events team were so welcoming and friendly, Fiona was amazing, constant communication throughout the planning and nothing was ever too much trouble! They really do just want you to have the best day and thats exactly what we did! Everything went to plan and Fiona and Jack were superb on the day making sure we were happy with how things were set up and keeping the schedule running on time! Couldnt say enough wonderful things, would 100% reccomend this venue to anyone planning their wedding or any event really, you wont regret it!!
