+ Close to the centre. The receptionist kindly allowed us to check in early. Clean room. Friendly staff.
- The breakfast is not very nice. Horrible coffee. The bread and coffee are better at the supermarket across the road. Unfortunately double is 2 twin beds together.

Wanted: a conveniently-located comfortable hotel. Found: the Hotel Matriz. Flight delays from Lisbon meant I arrived after midnight but the night manager took care of all my needs. A comfortable room but looking out on a major building project - the only thing to see from my window. I didn't come here for the view, so no problem (although the noise at my siesta time was a bit invasive). In the room, everything I would expect of this category hotel. Breakfast was adequate but, after a week, it gets a bit repetitive. Car parking (free) is three floors below the hotel and best if the rental car is SMALL! Would I stay there again? ABSOLUTELY!

We had a very nice stay. The property was fine although nothing special except the great location. There didn't seem to be a lot of other hotels near the city center and this one's location certainly made for an enjoyable visit to Puerto Delgado.

Hotel very well located in the center of Ponta Delgada. The staff is really great 👍 The rooms are basic but very clean. A little refreshing could be done such as replacing the carpets and repairing the safes in the rooms. As for breakfast, it's simple but more than enough to start a good day.

Nothing to point out. It was the first time I stayed at the Hotel Matriz. I highlight the magnificent service, cleanliness and of course, its privileged location in the center of the city. It has private parking (floor -3). Despite the relief of preventive measures against COVID19, there is (and is good) the concern in maintaining some preventive measures. Varied and sufficient breakfast. I will come back !!

After leaving our first accommodation after 2 nights of a 7 night stay because of road noise we found this gem of a hotel. The reception was very friendly and helpful. We had a lovely quiet room whist still being central to all the city offered. Breakfast was nice too. Thank you for all your help.

in the center, quiet area, good clean hotel, friendly staff. breakfast included but unfortunately we couldn't have it due to the very early flight time. rooms not large but clean and comfortable. wifi in all rooms. clean bathroom like the whole room I would say pleasant
