Four Mile Beach
This a harsher review than I would normally write. But I see others think similarly to me. The publicity and photos portray luxury. This is not luxurious and is unnervingly spartan in what it offers. Perhaps 3 star. It’s not altogether managements fault. There are practically no balconies and the rooms have no outlook. Such a shame when in the middle of the place, there is lush and pretty plant life. I am a Wyndham owner and have been for many years. But I have never encountered such meanness. Appliances in our room- virtually none. Not even a toaster on offer. As others have said, no thought given to how to dry beach or pool clothes. Charging owners for use of laundry is pusilanimous. My message to readers and management. The greatest asset here is the staff- helpful and courteous. But for Wyndham, this is a bad look and the facility needs a splash of generosity in approach and acceptable service.

We stayed at Peppers for Christmas and New Year holiday. The location is great for walking distance into town and walking to 4 mile beach is an easy walking distance as well. The oil is great and very kids friendly with a nice Sandy shallow edge all the way around. We have a ground floor room with a spa bath and this was used a lot in the evening to relax, you don’t have full privacy so wear your swim suit but that’s no problem. The rooms are nice and comfortable for two people. The breakfast is not buffet style you order off a menu and they have almond milk which is great if you are like me and enjoy a almond mocha or hot chocolate. The only downside I have to this place is they don’t give you complimentary water in your room. Nor is there a water fountain where you can fill up your bottles during the day? Unless I’m missing something but they try to be eco friendly with their room service cutlery and food packaging but no eco friendly options for water. I drink anywhere from 1-3 litres of water a day especially up in a tropical climate. So definitely a few water fountains installed around the place would be amazing. Some places I’ve stayed have both still and sparkling water fountain options. Other than that we had a great stay and the staff were really nice, the small gym is good for a quick cardio and simple weights workout and the layout we had no trouble with. Thanks Peppers Beach Club

Our family of 5 visited in January 2023. Upon checking in we noticed a bit dated/aged feeling to the apartment (211) which was surprising considering the photos advertising like new amenities. When booking, a main consideration for our family is access to Wi-Fi, to communicate with family, stream movies for children etc; we we’re unapologetically informed that after our booking was made, Wi-Fi is no longer available at the venue. (At the time of writing this review, TripAdvisor still lists the location as having Wi-Fi). This was a most disappointing factor of our stay here, as we felt falsely advertised to and likely wouldn’t have booked a stay here without the Wi-Fi. On the plus side, the location has a newly renovated pool which our children spent much time in. The beach is a stone’s throw from the property and we found the city of Port Douglas to be laid back and charming. Overall. this location would benefit from renovation as there was a lot of rust and unclean/broken items in the apartment. While the proximity to the beach of this location is the highlight, there are several areas which could be improved to make a stay here seem more of what we expect when vacationing.
Sheraton Grand Mirage Resort, Port Douglas

The hotel is very far away. In Douglas Town, we went to Cairns by boat for an hour. I am a Platinum Member of Marriott. Sheraton gave me a wine and it was said that the room type was upgraded. But they told me I was not a Platinum member, wasn't it funny? The hotel facilities are good, the scenery is very beautiful, the swimming pool is very large, parking is free, and there are golf courses, but the hotel is located in a tropical rain forest, there are a lot of bugs, and there are cockroaches and small flying insects everywhere in the corridor. It will be stinging, the room is still quite large, and the bathroom is also large. If the hotel can pay attention to cleanliness, the business should be better, which is not comparable to the Gold Coast Sheraton. In addition, I want to tell people who live here not to go to a Chinese restaurant called Jadeinn in Douglas. The owner ’s 10,000-percent Hong Kong independence is simply not dead. If you like to spend all day in the hotel, can recommend this

We were a family of 4 adults and 2 young children ages 11 and 13 booked into the 3 bedroom penthouse apartment for a week from 30 December. Upon arrival our initial reaction was how unbelievably central and convenient the location was. Although it was our initial preference to check into a resort we are glad that we stumbled across Coconut Grove. The location was ideal as a base location to explore tropical North Queensland. When we wanted to just do nothing the rooftop pools was our sanctuary. Having access to all the restaurants and cafes at our doorstep was the biggest tick for us. Some mornings our kids would do the coffee run for us. Four Mile Beach was literally right at our footstep. There were some nights we didn’t feel like eating out so having access to kitchen to cook was perfect. The amenities provided was great the kitchen had everything we needed. Fresh towels was provided daily if required so it didn’t like we were not in a resort. There was a turn down mid week during our stay, which was lovely. The property overall was very clean and modern with great amenities ie Miele appliances, great serving-ware and cooking utensils. First time being on a holiday and coming home to no dirty laundry was fabulous considering we had access to laundry. Open rooftop area was well spaced out with great views. If there was one critique it would be that the pool was a tad small needless to say having a pool and spa to dunk in the humid weather whilst sipping on a glass of wine was perfect. The staff at reception and housekeeping were super professional and friendly. Thank you Coconut Grove!

Port douglas apartments have underground parking garages for convenience. No elevator. No breakfast. The owner Robin is enthusiastic. The room is nice, bright, clean, 70 meters from the beach, at the end of Macrossan Street, very quiet. Especially suitable for vacation. Just a few steps away is the end of the four-mile beach. There is a walkway on the left side, 1.3km long. Stay a few more days. If you come from Cairns, rent a car at the airport and drive for up to an hour. You can also drive to Dancui Rainforest by yourself. Don't listen to the boss's flickering road conditions. It is recommended to join a one-day tour. It is well worth taking a cruise to the daintree river by car. You can see wild crocodiles. If it weren't for this small group to be sent back on time, we could just wait to see wild crocodiles attack the cows standing in the water. regret! Picture one is a hunting scene photo we were unable to wait for. The video is a daintree river boat ride to find the crocodile.
