We stayed for one night in room 4 (Queens suite) which had a small lounge attached to the bedroom. The only real positive was the location of the inn, right next to the port, great views. We were told the room was the only room in the oldest part of the inn, as if this was a good thing. The room itself was very tired, old and falling apart in places (holes in wall and an area above the clothes rail was held together with tape). It certainly did not look like the pictures on the website. There was an old gas fire in the lounge which was pointed out to us (but no instructions on how to use it) and a radiator in the bedroom. Unfortunately the radiator wasn’t on, and we couldn’t get the gas fire to work (the only instruction for it was how to turn it off). The room was very cold (thankfully we did find a hot water bottle which made it a bit more bearable). We arrived on a Saturday and on checking in were asked if we wanted to eat in that night. At no point were we told that it gets very busy and we would need to book a table immediately. They only had the previous nights menu at that point and as one of us is vegetarian and one pescatarian we wanted to wait for that nights before confirming. We went for a walk and received the menu at 5:45. We were then told that there were no tables available (!) but we could eat in the bar at 6:30. This was earlier than we wanted but agreed as the food has good reviews. The bar is tiny and they expected us to sit at the bar to eat. Although there were bar stools, the actual bar was high and narrow and it would have been impossible to eat in that position. We therefore declined and went elsewhere. We feel they should have told us as soon as we checked in that we need to book a table asap. Breakfast was ok, again there have been very good reviews. However there was a very limited choice of cooked food (scrambled egg with or without avocado). No other egg choice. Safe to say we would not recommend or return. The other rooms may be better, but avoid room 4 if you do stay there!

What a gorgeous place to stay. I had read other reviews and knew it would be very good, but was still impressed and surprised. From the friendly and helpful staff to the accommodation, communal areas and gardens, the bar and restaurant looked great! Breakfast was delicious too. So much to offer and in such a homely setting. We will definitely be back!

This is a quirky little B&B from the outside, but it’s a tardis once you are inside. It sits on the corner of Campbell & Gipps street, with parking on either Street. It felt once inside like being back in time at my Nans old house, fresh home grown vegetables in baskets everywhere, the old mismatched mats, old dusty pictures hanging on the walls. We were greeted and shown to our room, which was bigger than expected on the ground floor, which comprised of a small sitting area, bedroom and on suite shower and toilet. There was no A/C but a fan kept the bedroom cool. The bed was comfortable, the room spotlessly clean with a TV on the wall. Bathroom toiletries were supplied. There was a kettle with Tea & Coffee making facilities, A shared fridge in the lounge provided us with milk and we were able to store wine in it. Outside there was a small garden with a “Shed” bar and seating. The Breakfast buffet was exceptional, all fresh home grown produce, even home made organic yogurts. As well as the buffet a freshly cooked breakfast was served if required. On the weekend of our stay there was an old fashion car show taking place, coupled with the Inn it was like stepping back in time 40 years ago. A defo stay if you find yourself in Port Fairy

The boutique accomodation was lovely furnished with great attention to detail. We loved their big garden where we enjoyed a quiet afternoon in the sun including nice coffee from the common area. The breakfast buffet was great with a hot meal. The staff was very friendly & helpful. We enjoyed a delicious dinner at their restaurant. The restaurant only had a bar seating available which was rather tight for eating a three course menu. We would have appreciated if they had told us that their portions are bigger than elsewhere & one main to share is enough. Everything else was perfect :-)

If I could rate this glorious Inn higher than 5 I would! We were treated so well throughout our stay here. The staff are welcoming and kind. Our 'room' was amazing - it had a sitting room, bedroom and huge bathroom and our own front door!! The Inn has a lots of little areas where you can sit and relax with a bar and restaurant. Our daughter stayed in one of the smaller upstairs room which was equally well appointed and super cute! The restaurant is amazing and uses local ingredients as well as produce from their kitchen garden. It was packed, even on a Monday night which says it all. You can do a nice walk around Griffiths Island easily from here where you can meet wild wallabies!

Although only here one night as we were driving the Great Ocean Road we found this place charming. The weather wasn't brilliant and it was lovely having a glass of wine in the lounge next to an open fire reading a book in the evening. We didn't have an evening meal but it did look to be popular and the food I saw looked very good. Breakfast was varied and good and our room was perfect. The place felt warm and accommodating.

This is a five star place. A bit hard to spot but after a warm welcome it is soon quite obvious that the initial impression of a jumble is in fact a really well organised if somewhat quirky experience. Other reviews have said this is old and tired. It is not at all. I should think every piece of furniture and book pile has been chosen and considered and moved and checked on a daily basis. Everything has been considered with a beautiful nostalgic feel of a film set. The food is exceptional and worthy of a high ranking. Nothing is forced just superbly efficient and unobtrusive. The bad reviewer’s just don’t get it so it’s not for them. If you want real hospitality without the corporate formality you will love it!

Firstly to say there is absolutely nothing wrong with this place, it’s perfectly adequate for a short stay over. But on a personal note it just wasn’t for us, quirky, quaint and rustic might sum up this place but to us it is old and tired and not our style.
