I stayed at this hotel for a week in April with a group of 5 family members. I decided on this hotel due to the reviews, and it looked more modern than the other chains on the island. Prior to arrival: I asked if they were able to provide connecting rooms, as I had booked 3 rooms for my group. I was expecting a reply within 48 hours, but I never received a reply prior to my arrival. Arrival: Once we arrived at the hotel and at check in queue, there was no queue, which was great. While checking in, we provided our ID for 1 person in each room. During this time, I was given the room assigned to my sister and visa versa. I asked if we could possibly have connecting rooms and was told that it might have been possible if I contacted them prior to arrival. At this point, I mentioned that I did contact the hotel a week ago and did not hear back. There was no response or acknowledgement of my statement. Room: Our rooms were on the 5th, 7th & 9th floors. We also released that our room key only works for the floor your room is on, so visiting another room in your travel party would be interesting and you would have to meet on the 1st floor, then go together. I asked why this was at reception, and they had no reply apart from the keys only working for your floor. My room was on the 5th floor. On arrival, I noticed the carpet in the room looked very old and was loose in places. The size of the room was spacious. The bathroom was of general size. The wardrobe was strange. The area for hanging space could not be fully utilised due to a section of the wall being very close to the rail, making use of the full clothing rail impossible. There were shelves in the section next to the hanging close for foldable items and the in room safe, along with an in room iron. The room has a capsule coffee maker, kettle with a mini fridge, which I found very useful for beverages. The hotel menu is accessible via the TV, which has a good selection of international and local stations and casting capabilities. We were greeted by our host Keisha, who would be looking after us during our stay, who was lovely. All of my requests were fulfilled, and they were also lovely to speak to when we would see each other on a daily basis. Later in my stay and near my leaving, I stuck my foot on something that was sticking out of the carpet. Using my tweezers, I found that it was an old earring stud. I called the front desk and asked them to vacuum the room in case something else happened. I had my own plasters, and it was taken care of. I do think that, if my experience at this hotel had been bad before this happened. I would have taken it further. Luckily, it wasn’t, so I didn’t. On my last night, I found out that some of the rooms do not have carpet. They have vinyl flooring. Which is nicer looking and much better for the Caribbean. Shame my room didn’t have vinyl. Next time, this is something I will definitely be requesting . Pool/ gym: Nice looking, but can get very crowded if
