Stunning views front and back. A great base for exploring Snowdonia, and North Wales, including Portmeirion, Harlech Castle, Black Rock Sands, Barmouth, Anglesey and so much more. Lots of great restaurants nearby including the Goat Inn for lovely Welsh food. Nearby shops and cafes, and of course the steam railway.

Not able to open windows at all made for an uncomfortable sleep over the 4 nights. The air con made myself band husband ill. It was too cold or too hot when turned off. Ruined an otherwise great trip!

My wife and I received a warm welcome upon arrival and found our room to be spacious, clean and comfortable. We ate our evening meal in the hotel and once again found the staff to be lovely. In particular Carina was very helpful and Sammy the chef cooked my steak perfectly.

Stayed during the kids holidays and what a lovely hotel. Everything was great from checking in, the room and took advantage of the meal deal. Every member of staff that we came into contact with couldn’t do enough. Already booked to come again in the summer

Booked as overlooking heritage railway. Great views over railway and estuary. We were in a Premier Plus room which was spacious, comfortable and clean. Very modern furnishings, fridge, tea and coffee tray with coffee pod machine, complimentary water. Our friend stayed in standard room which had less facilities but was a good size and also clean & comfortable. Standard rooms have bath with shower over. Premier Plus rooms have walk in rain showers (no bath). The rooms are quiet and have blackout curtains so great for a good night's sleep. Breakfast was buffet style with lots of choice. Staff helpful and friendly. A great stay.

The staff were great and the hotel was aa expected in every way except the size of the room and beds. We had x 3 beds in our room which you could only get in and out of via the bottom of the bed. One of the beds also wasn’t a full single and had a poor mattress.

Was looking forward to staying at this hotel. The location is excellent if you're visiting the Ffestiniog Railway. This is probably where the positives end. We were a party of five with two young kids. The restaurant was simply awful. We were up-sold the meal deal by reception and it was the worst decision we made during our stay. We came down for our table at 7.15 and weren't attended to until 7.30. We weren't given any menus upon being shown to our table and a very busy restaurant had just one member of waiting staff working. He seemed very nervous as though it was his first shift, he went to hide whenever I tried to grab his attention. Eventually another member of staff arrived, she told us that her shift had already finished but she had been asked to stay. From being seated at 7.30 we didn't get to order until 8.00. 30 minutes being sat there being ignored isn't a good look for Premier Inn. We finally received our drinks at 8.45 and our food at 9.00. In total 90 minutes since we had sat down and an hour and 45 minutes since we had originally booked our table. The food quality was poor, the gammon that my wife had ordered was grey in colour and had not been trimmed correctly or cooked properly. She left that and instead made do with the paltry portion of chips. Once our meal was finished we were then ignored again for another 30 minutes before the children's deserts were finally delivered after I walked over to the waiting staff to ask them to remove our plates. The young man who had meant to be serving us Francis simply avoided speaking to any of the tables and spent most of his time hiding in the kitchen. It was like a scene from Fawlty Towers. The bar man then smashed a pepper pot near our children that was left un cleared for the remaining duration of our stay. There was no chance of ordering any other drinks and when our bill came we had been billed incorrectly but at that point a full three hours since we began our 'dining experience' I didn't have the energy to try and summon another hiding member of staff to rectify it. The last few stays I've had with Premier Inn have been poor. Your Aldgate hotel is fantastic and the staff and restaurant is amazing but since then I've stayed at London Earl's Court, Balsall Common and this stay in Porthmadog and all three stays have had serious issues where both staffing and training seems a huge ongoing problem.

Really good food, and service. Chris really helpful and great chat about local area. A superb location for local golf courses. Evening meal surprisingly good. Rooms good. Windows should have ability to open. Great value as you would expect.

Comfy bed clean room good food good management, far too much expected of staff, minimal staffing numbers putting staff under pressure. I would recommend this hotel, staff lovely
