Cahotic, dated hotel, quite a distance from the Harbor. Noisy people coming in and going out. Homeless sleeping outside the building. the car park is listed in the ad as private, but it looks like public parking: it is outside the hotel. You pay 40 dollars for the Park but you don't have the car in the hotel and it is not clear who is responsible for the car. Extremely expensive shabby room without proper comfort, there is not even a kettle. Not particularly clean. Unfriendly and unhelpful staff

First the good news: the rooms (a junior suite) were very comfortable. The bad news: numerous screw ups on the part of housekeeping (failed to clean room, cleaned but failed to leave towels and toilet paper) and the front desk (gave us key to wrong room, positively rude when asked to address housekeeping issues…). We stayed at this hotel because we wanted a full breakfast available. What we got was an abominable - and expensive- breakfast buffet consisting of dried out and under-heated foods, barely edible. There are better options in downtown Portland. We would not go back to the Westin.

Chair had stains on it, walls haven’t been cleaned in who knows how long, photos of suites show very large bathtub however there was no bathtub at all. Paid extra for two suites because online photos of room show giant bathtub, neither room had the tub. Went to guest services and explained that I purposely booked the sweet because of said tubs. Employee was nice and helpful and gave us vouchers for a breakfast and a drink but said they did not have any rooms with bathtubs. Employees are great and the service they provide is excellent but overall I would skip this place unless you can get a really good deal. We’ve stayed in way cleaner hotels in Portland that much less expensive and one even has a connected garage so you don’t have to walk 1/4 mile threw stairways that smell like urine.

This is a really solid hotel, and we've stayed three times now. The staff are wonderful, and the hotel is always clean. The beds are super comfortable, and the higher floor rooms have beautiful views of the bay. The location is great with several bars and restaurants, as well as the state theater within walking distance. However, I can not caution you enough - DO NOT USE THE ADJACENT PARKING GARAGE. It rained during our stay, and the dripping limestone ruined the paint job on our brand new car. The hotel doesn't own the garage, the city does, and they are taking zero responsibility. Other than that, wonderful hotel!
