While this place is aesthetically beautiful and the staff is lovely, I would not recommend staying here. Their heating/AC units make this loud, screeching, dying animal sound every hour and a half all day and all night long. When I mentioned this to the front desk they said it’s this way for all the rooms. The light fixture above my bed broke so they came and fixed it while I was away but the bed was not cleaned up or made after the fixture was replaced. When I went to sleep that night one of the pillows smelled like cigarette smoke and there was a dirty used tissue in my bed.

People were so noisy on the street and driving by, and the homeless were terrifying. They felt really dangerous. Parking was rough and valet was expensive, but the trouble with parking was so worth it. Very cool place really great staff.

The front desk staff was condescending and rude when we asked simple questions. We asked if PDX was a city where we needed to make dinner reservations, the response was “I’m a minimum wage girly, I don’t make reservations.” When asked where we could order/get some flowers, they said “…um, you can GOOGLE that.” Just…rude. I am sure there are employees with better skills, but this was our experience with two different people on different days. The closets in the rooms have a shelf under the bar where things hang. If you need to bring a dress, jumper, or a suit, they won’t hang, they’ll bunch. No breakfast available (you can get an instant oatmeal and piece of fruit if you pre-order from your room) and they do have a decent coffee shop. But apparently only one person is trained for the barista work and if they call out, the coffee shop is closed. The maintenance and housekeeping staff were kind and wonderful. The rooms are fine. Not the best, not the worst.

We travel to Portland often for work and this is the second time I've stayed at the hoxton this year. Honestly I won't stay anywhere else. The rooms are very clean and nice, but where the Hoxton really shines is it's staff. I'm pretty sure they have the world's friendliest security guard. Between the security and the gentleman at the front desk they made us feel like family and I can't tell you how refreshing that is after a long day if travel. Thank you Hoxton team! (Will, we will be sure to bring you some of those cookies next time we stay!)

Loved the atmosphere! The decor was great, the lighting is soft, the rooms are cozy, the rooftop deck is rad as hell. Didn't get to the restaurant but, the morning coffe bar was very nice.

Staff were very friendly and accommodating and allowed us flex check-in. The upstairs hallways were lackluster and rubber. It felt like a padded room. The carpets were also dirty and crumbs in the corners of the rooms. The damp outdoors seemed to creep in as well because of poor insulation. Bathrooms were clean and large. No vanity space, though.

Hotel is very pretty. There is no room service available and some good options for food near by. Hotel coffee shop was closed during stay Friday & Sat. Tequila bar on top was packed on a Sat. Would have liked to know there was no room service available prior to booking. Desk said they are having technical difficulty taking it off site…Homelessness is very present in this area. Front desk staff were very nice and accommodating.
