The Hoxton, Portland

Awesome location if you’re seeing anyone at the Roseland Theater. Pretty cool to snag voodoo doughnuts kitty corner to the hotel. That hotel and rooms were amazing as well was the rooftop bar/restaurant!

The room was clean and confortable. The staff was friendly and helpful. I like there are books everywhere to pick up and browse. I had a delicious cup of coffee from the onsite cafe. You pay a little more for a room here than at the Marriot, but the experience is worth the extra loot. There is a parking garage across Burnside to the South of the Hoxton, very convenient.

I visited the Hoxton from 4/15/24-4/18/24 with several coworkers for a company retreat. The building is unassuming from the outside, but as soon as I stepped inside I knew I would enjoy the stay. The hotel has a warm and cozy ambiance and is well-decorated with unique trinkets and earth-toned furniture and throw pillows. The hotel rooms were nice. I stayed in a room with a queen bed with a TV opposite, two sitting chairs, a small counter space by the entryway with a mini fridge below, and a bathroom across with a walk-in shower. The room was clean and the bed and bedding were comfortable. There was a small A/C unit which could be adjusted for comfort. The walls between the rooms are thin, so light sleepers may want to pack earplugs. I was able to hear a phone buzzing from the room next to me, but it did not disrupt my stay. The staff at the Hoxton are very friendly and professional. Emily was working the front desk during most of my stay, and she always greeted me in the mornings and was helpful when I had questions about finding my way around the hotel. Lyriaal made sure that only our staff was allowed to enter the hotel, and was very friendly but made sure we were supposed to be there before allowing us inside. It added an extra layer of safety and comfort that was appreciated during the week, especially when we returned from events in the neighborhood late at night. Finally, I wanted to mention that I really liked that the bathrooms in the hall off the lobby are single-stall. There were about 4-5 individual restrooms. Since I was staying with coworkers I appreciated the additional privacy and that the restrooms were not gendered.

Liked: Modern, upscale decor, quirky-cool touches like old-fashioned working radio in the room, mod light fixtures. Did not like: rude staff, bad, super-salty (yet expensive) food, the worst Manhattan ever (bartender said,”we’re out of cherries” plunked the drink down and turned her back). Was told upon arrival there was live music in the main floor bar, no mention of tickets. When we arrived to check it out, they told us we needed tickets, and the person at the door did not have tickets. Stuff like that.

The hotel and staff were lovely. Walking distance to many hotels and attractions. The area around the hotel does have a pretty high homeless population.

Had a fabulous stay at The Hoxton! Got in a few hours before check in, exhausted from travel but with no expectations of getting our room early. Not only were we able to check in right away, but we got upgraded to a suite. The customer service here is top notch, and the room was fantastic.

Great location and suggestions on what to do in the area. Parking is a little rough on weekend however valet service is available. Chill vibe and no modern space. I have the shoe box room and concept is just cool and collective.

As is the trend, you get hit with the Resort Fee bill, despite the place lacking gym, housekeeping, pool, breakfast, or much that would justify the extra fee - it's very bare bones for a hotel, let alone a resort. The roof deck and bar are among the best in the city, and the downstairs lounge area makes the perfect place to meet and hang out. The overall flavor and personality is gorgeous, and sort of makes up for the corners that were cut.

There was a party of some sort and you could hear all the music not to mention that you could hear after the party was over the noises of the night. I would not recommend walking around the hotel at any point of the day
