SureStay Hotel by Best Western Portland City Center

Accused of smoking in room when nothing of that sort happened .. very unfair judgement by management… my wife and I travel with odor eliminators and usually end sup leaving the hotel cleaner then the way it was when we got there.. first thing we do when we check in a hotel is vacuum and wipe down eveything with anti bacterial spray “Method” purple bottle to be exact

I choose this hotel as it was more affordable and about a 25 min walk to event downtown. Simple, friendly staff and good enough for its purpose.

Only the bed by the bathroom needs a new mattress. The sooner the better. Really sags in center of side facing the bathroom door.

This was so close to OHSU. It literally took less than 5 minutes! There is a lot of construction and when we first arrived I wondered about the safety, but we were fine and the motel manager assured me that they had very few problems. Staff was very friendly and helpful.

I reserved a room here due to its close proximity to Doernbecher. My daughter was having an early morning operation and check in was 6:30 am - we were able to get from the hotel to the hospital within 5 mins - give yourself an additional 5 mins for parking! Unfortunately, I made the mistake of reserving the room for the wrong date, however the office receptionist was completely compassionate and understanding and helped my daughter & I find a room there for the night! We stayed in a room across from the office which was great because I read some reviews that the rooms above the restaurant can get noisy. We did not hear anything from our room and should you want or need food or drinks the restaurant is open until 12 am - it is family friendly until 8 pm (we missed this window - but no biggie because we had plans to go to AFURI Ramen + dumpling). It is fairly close to the downtown area - I would even saying walking distance, but we took a car and it took 7 mins to drive down and there was plenty of parking on a Wednesday evening (after 8 pm). The room was great and chock full of amenities (tv/coffee machine/clocks/lamps with usb charging ports). We would stay here again!

In much need of upgrades. My room smelled like cigarettes. Not sure if the person staying near was a heavy smoker or the room was already penetrated. The carpet is old and dirty as well as the curtains.

comfortable room. no hassles with check in and check out. Good spot for a simple overnight stay.
