Ace Hotel Portland

I would describe this as a hipster hotel with unique character to match the downtown area. My teenage kids did like the room and the adjacent coffee shop. However, I felt the room was a little small, especially the bathroom and the room could use some updating like more amenities like towel racks and storage for suitcases. Our room was not close to being recently remodeled so pictures can be a little deceiving. Bed was comfortable but I could hear people walking around above our room at night. I also struggled with parking found it very stressful trying to find parking, plan to spend around $40 a day on parking a day if you are driving around a lot. The overnight parking which is approx 10-15 minutes away walking distance is not on site and is only $20 a night, but it does not feel safe after 10pm to be walking around due to the homeless problem in the area. I don't think I will be returning to this hotel. I def don't feel like this was a 3 star hotel, I would give it a 2.5 out of 4 or 5 stars. The breakfast was a continental at best. Pastries with juice or coffee and fruit. Sometimes they provided yogurt or boxed oatmeal and oat milk but nothing special and get there before 9 am or there may run out of items. Portland has a lot of fun things to see but because of the homeless problem I would seek out recommendations for the best attractions and stir clear of the problem areas. Washington park and art museum were a lot of fun to visit. Multnomah Falls would be an all day trip and get there very early since parking is terrible or park off site and take tram in. I was also charged an additional fee of $25 a night which was not mentioned anywhere on the trip.com booking receipt.

I’ve tried a few other hotels that try to copy but never truly understand the details that make the Ace so great! The bed was amazing, the smells are of a pleasant boutique and the finishes are clever and well executed. To top it off after a long day of travel it’s wonderful to settle down with the smith tea in the room and some calming music from the local radio stations. I wouldn’t go anywhere else! Oh, and the price is very comparable to a standard corporate hotel chain. Just stay here, you’ll enjoy it!

Was already expensive, didn't use any of the other services or anything. Just needed a place to sleep for the night. Charged an extra 100$ afterwards, we left the room clean. Returned the key and picked up the mess we did make.

Our stay in PDX was fantastic! May 14 and 12 year old loves the experience. Decor is on point. Hotel staff was friendly, accommodating, and helpful. Easy check in check out. Linens & bedding were super comfy. Look forward to staying at another ACE hotel soon. Till next time.

Cool, close to great things, clean and comfortable. Definitely pick a room with a shower if standing in a tub in middle of room is disorienting or difficult, as well as if stepping up and over into the tub is challenging or impossible. They do have many types of rooms, so many choices!

Loved the feel, the spaces, the comfie couches, fabulous creaky stairs, claw foot bathtub, delish little oranges and honey for my tea! The room made us smile….so simple and lovely. Barn door window coverings, great lighting, open hangers and a full fridge.

Routinely little to no food during their “free breakfast”. Amenities seemed overlooked. Felt like a janky hostel made cool by hiring the merchandise designer from Urban Outfitters. Comfortable but innocuous; imagine if your hipster nephew ran a hotel… eye rolls and the silent treatment were complimentary.
