Awesome location close to key attractions like the river front the Sao Bento station, the famous bridge. Very lively at night. Beautiful hotel!

We had a great stay at Porto AS 1829 Hotel. The location is excellent—quiet, elegant, and perfectly placed in Porto’s historic center. It’s about a 10-minute easy walk to the Douro riverfront and Dom Luís I Bridge, and also 10 minutes to the public transport hub near São Bento station. The staff is extremely friendly, helpful, and professional. The hotel is very clean, and the room was well-equipped, comfortable, and nicely decorated. The continental breakfast was excellent and varied, with very good coffee. As the hotel is in a historic building, some rooms may not have a balcony, and the shower, while modern and well designed, is not very spacious—a minor detail that didn’t affect our stay. Overall, a charming hotel with great service in an ideal location. Highly recommended.

We had a pleasant experience. The staff was very nice, the room was clean w nice linens. The room did have a quirky shower but it was fine. The shower area was in the hallway of the room. The only disappointment was the restaurant on site was closed during our stay but plenty of places to walk close by. I had no concerns for my belongings or safety as mentioned in previous reviews.

The staff were excellent, we were only there for one night, and the receptionist recommended so many things to do, the hotel room was gorgeous, it looked like a room you would pay 1000 euros a night in Paris. The hotel was close to everything. I loved the big soaker tub, as by the end of the night my legs ached from hills and stairs. I never wanted to leave. The hotel and staff were excellent I hope to be back for much longer than a day. We also got a welcome drink, very nice welcome
