Awful place, not worth any penny. Old and dirty room, not as the photos on the application. Lifts were not working. Walking distance to room was 3-4 mins, isolated room no service person around. Room door card was problem, it was working after 9-10 times tried. Couldn’t sleep due to the dust in the room.

I like this hotel very much. The room is very clean and bright, much brighter than the picture. The room we stayed in is also much bigger than the picture. The front desk has a warm and friendly smile. Staying here is like entering a small naval museum. The pictures on the wall add a bit of warmth to the battleship Warrior docked in the harbor. 5 minutes walk from the bay and 6 minutes from Portsmouth Harbour train station. Although the facilities are old, they are very good in the Three Diamond Hotel.

We had a one night stopover as on a ferry to IOW the next morning, staff were very polite and helpful on arrival and helped with suggestions of places to look at and the Docklands were very interesting. We had a standard twin room and sadly it was very disappointing, it was clean enough but it was very sad ,needs a good makeover or better still not book them out . Very dated and a long hike up to the room . If we had been staying longer we would have asked to move rooms. Also at 1am lots of noise people talking really loud in the corridor that woke us up. The rest of the hotel was good ,pool looked very clean but small, which is ok. Breakfast was ok . Would we stay again ? Probably not .

Such a great place for functions and city breaks. Just booked a 60th birthday party this weekend and it all went without a hitch from DJ to amazing food served by such a great team in the kitchen. Thank you all, but especially Debbie , who just took the pressure off a surprise party and made everything so easy. Thank you all for an amazing weekend.

Really fab hotel looks a bit shabby on the outside but inside the lobby is amazing with a domed roof with colonnades. Some of the nicest & friendly staff I think I’ve ever met who really seemed to enjoy there jobs. Breakfasts were excellent really nice produce and well cooked and plenty of it. My room was ok the decor and furniture were showing there age but the room was clean and spacious with good amenities (kettle, tea, coffee, etc) and piping hot water. The hotel is also only a short walk from (5 minutes) to the naval museum where they have the Mary Rose & 10 minuets walk to the spinnaker tower and Queyside outlet mall and the ferry, bus, and train terminals so is a great base to explore from. Would definitely stay here again

It's location is absolutely brilliant. Short walk to docks, shops and city centre. Shame the pool wasn't open but overall really great hotel. And the staff were extremely helpful and polite.

Had a great few days at the royal maritime club. We were celebrating our Golden Wedding Anniversary on 23rd and my husbands birthday on 24th. We decided to go back to hotel because that is where it all begun 50yrs ago! My husband is ex Navy and we got married then a week later, my husband was at sea and returning to pompey! I came to the maritime (but not how it is today) . I checked in a room then went for a walk along the seafront and sat on a bench waiting for his ship (HMS BULWARK) to arrive. This is our 2nd or 3rd trip to the Maritime Club. The whole place is lovely and kept spotless. The staff are all very friendly and helpful. We did have issues with the door key and lights and nothing was too much trouble for the receptionists to help us. A bonus for us was the naval association club had a meeting whilst we were there so my husband was able to meet dome matelots from same ship. Really good night! Would definately recommend thos hotel as its just up the road to the historical dockyard! Another visit worthwhile. We will be back again in the near future. Thank you yo all the staff tor doing a great job.
