Nice hotel, friendly staff, excellent breakfast, and conveniently located one street from the beach and 5-10 min into the bar and restaurant district. Free parking permit on the street nearby. We stayed just one night to visit Portsmouth but we definitivly come back when we are around next time.

Sadly not a great stay, cold, noisy and couldn’t get any food despite advert stating there was a restaurant.

The hotel is about 400 meters from the beach where you can enjoy a nice walk. The room is fairly modernly furnished with the necessary comfort. The bathroom is clean and tidy. We slept well on the king-size bed, which was a normal double bed by the way. We were on Florence Road on the top floor, up 3 flights of stairs. There is no air conditioning in the room, which is not a problem now, in March. That will be a loss on hot summer days. There is a restaurant area. We only had breakfast there. It was a pleasant stay. Portsmouth is a naval city. There is a lot to see, museums, old ships including the HMS Warrior can be visited. It is also a university town with many pubs and various dining options.

What a find, the hotel has bags of character, really clean facilities, lovely decor, great breakfast and welcoming, friendly staff. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would definitely return. The Florence Arms was incredible too, again lovely staff and amazing food

Great Location. Great room. Fabulous generous breakfast. Staff excellent. Great shower. Very comfortable bed. Great decor. Excellent cleanliness. Free parking which is a great bonus. We would both recommend this hotel for a stay to visit Portsmouth. We would return.
