Great food food and or server Freddy provided excellent service really made the afternoon. Good drink and speedy staff. Would recommend the fish and chip knotty was very tasty and so was the tartar sauce I staff all very polite and speedy would recommend highly. Thank you Freddy!

Spent a evening with family for dinner. The Tanglefoot was great along with all the food, cooked very well. The service from Catherine was very good, polite and discreetly attentive. All the staff were pleasent and happy. A good evening. 👍

Having stayed here I am reluctant to be so effusive about how great it is because it will become too popular, which would make it not so easy to return. The room was fantastic and the bed was the most comfortable super king I have ever slept in. The room looked Victorian but had all the mod cons like a simple low level light when you went into the bathroom in the night. USB ports in the plugs. Everything you would want in a 5 star hotel was thought of here. Coffee and tea facilities were top notch and I even loved the old school door key. The staff were lovely and Mariana who served our breakfast was brilliant with great customer service skills. Our included breakfast was served in a gorgeous high ceiling dining room and the choice for breakfast was extensive and well cooked. I wouldnt hesitate to recommend staying here and exploring Poundbury and Dorchester. We will be back soon.

A warm and friendly hotel with a nice lofty ground floor restaurant and bar. I was breaking the journey from Sussex to Devon with an overnight stay. The room was spacious and very comfortable. They had thought of everything. A good night’s sleep followed by a friendly welcome for a tasty breakfast. I will definitely be going back for a longer visit.

Easy free parking in the front of the hotel with a simple and friendly check in were the indicators this was going to be great. Dinner booked - room sensational with the small touches and a lift to make life easy. The staff were engaging and the food and drink just right at the bar. Pasta dishes - Papperdelle Ragu and Pumpkin Ravioli were all that was needed with some nice bar drinks. The breakfast the next morning - full continental - had some of the best pastries you could imagine. Staff are lovely and location is tops . Be sure to book here it is well with it.

Great venue for my husbands 40th birthday celebrations. Attentive staff, great food, so accommodating and helpful. Would highly recommend. Hotel rooms superb. Very clean, tidy and presentable. Great choice of food and drinks. Lovely private hire space for small party.

Always wanted to stay here to see the interior. Very attractive rooms - I peeped in two others as the cleaners were working this morning - staff are very friendly. Nice little refinements i.e. cups and saucers in rooms plus a teapot! We enjoyed breakfast in the lovely dining room - interesting collections everywhere of art and elegant furniture. Very warm and comfortable accommodation on a wet and windy winter night.

Came here a few weeks back, amazing food, service, ambience, and live music. Stayed overnight too, the bed was the comfiest I've ever been in, I slept like a log, may partly be due to the alcohol mind.... it was clean, it did just the job. Will not hesitate to come back here again!

Booked a four night stay expecting as guests to be able to have a cess to bar and restaurant for the duration of our stay. Our final night New Years day the website stated hours open until 11pm. In reality they closed by 5pm, this left us without access to any food. Dreadful weather and a lack of transport prevented us going out anywhere else so Instead of enjoying a final night meal with drinks in the hotel we sat in our room watching TV with really poor reception eating crisps that the one member of staff we found was kind enough to provide us with. Appallingly bad service as hotel residents we expected to be able eat. Never had this experience in a hotel before.
