DO NOT BOOK- SCAM- JULY 2021 We booked this hotel as it was within a decent distance to the airport. We are literally sitting outside of the hotel at this precise minute., trying to find somewhere to stay tonight. The hotel is COMPLETELY CLOSED. Yes. You are reading correctly. It is completely closed… SHUT DOWN!!!! And they still sold us a room. We were given the news by a security guard who was looking after the empty building. No email, no courtesy call. Nothing. A complete SCAM. We have called the Holiday Inn locally and were offered a room in another Holiday Inn that, with traffic, would be a 1.5 hr drive to the airport. TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE. We asked kindly to be given a room at the Holiday Inn at airport , as this would help us get to there at 6am with fewer hassle and were denied this courtesy. We also asked to speak to General Manager and were told there was none and nothing could be done. We just drove SIX HOURS IN THE RAIN. We are tired, we want a hot shower and a clean bed, yet we were met with complete disrespect. Rest assured , we WILL be FILING A FORMAL COMPLAINT WITH IHG and if possible with any pertinent authorities governing tourism and consumer rights. Again, this is a complete SCAM. Buyer beware. IHG : why is this Holiday Inn still in your list of properties? Why would you treat your consumers like this? You have disappointed us. As good customers we just think we deserved better. Now it’s off to find another hotel and PAY AGAIN, because YES our reservation was already paid for in full.

We stayed in this hotel in March 2023 for one night. The staff at the front desk were superb, and the room was clean. The hotel is extremely close to the airport, which makes it a great place to stay for your first night in Costa Rica. Noise from the hallways did carry into the rooms, but other than that, everything was great!

We just spend one night at Holiday Inn Express and we liked it. Nice big rooms and very comfortable bed. Nice breakfast with yoghurt, fresh fruit and some warm food. It’s a supermarket in front of the hotell and also some restaurantes. Nice location.

Bananas experience! Booked this hotel for our last night in Costa Rica as it is close to the airport. It was booked as a “mystery” 4 star hotel thru Priceline so I didn’t pick it directly, but I wasn’t concerned when I got it as it’s a major chain and thus didn’t bother to read any reviews ahead of time. Showed up and the hotel is closed! A security guard was working to guard the abandoned building and said it was closed for renovations but there was no sign of any renovations and after poking around it seems others were told it was COVID related going back as far as July. How this hotel is accepting reservations when it’s been closed 3+ months is bizarre and shady. Priceline was great at refunding us but this hotel should not be listed anywhere and yet it’s accepting reservations on multiple sites! Not a nice surprise in the pouring rain, late at night, on our last night in Costa Rica.

Typically good room. Great front desk staff. Cheerful waitstaff but excessive wait times at the restaurant. Good proximity to PriceSmart and the Multiplaza Escazu (Large and comprehensive mall) and an easy walk to CEMA Hospital district. Overall very happy with hotel. Would not hesitate to stay again.
