A remote hotel with excellent services and surrounding views. The Grill offers excellent food and its services is wonderful. Room is clean and tidy, highly recommended.

This is 5 star pricing that delivers a 3 star experience. Gorgeous location though 25 minutes from town. Outside of the main room, the hotel feels like an upscale Marriott - not true luxury. Wear and tear noted, and service is not attentive. No special touches that you experience in a true luxury place. The Fireside Grill was weak - food took forever to come, missing items, etc. Overall, a fine place at $500 a night, not double that. I feel they are taking advantage of being the only upscale game in town.

I wanted to love it. The surroundings are epic. The window frames the majestic mountains and surrounding hills. There are many paths to walk and bike and the walk to the Yellowstone river is beautiful. But when we arrived they didn't' have the room I booked and said they would put us upstairs in a balcony room for one night and then the next day put us in the walk out room. We went upstairs-no balcony. We didn't complain as it was only for the night. We went to the Grill restaurant that night and we waited 2 hours for our food which then came cold. We sent it back and it came out again but it was inedible. it was supposed to Wagyu beef but it was so tough. The next day we had trouble at breakfast again. Cold eggs and trout. The highlight of the stay was Tanner the fishing guide. He was just am amazing. At lunch time we were moved into our other room and it was so bad. There was a big portable AC unit roaring in the room and we couldn't open he door because the screen couldn't close. There was a gigantic piece of plywood running from floor to ceiling of the door into which the machine was attached. That night the general manager told us that dinner was on them to make up for all the trouble. But at the end of the night they charged us for the meal anyway. The staff there were very nice, but we could tell that they had heard that we were trouble and we made them uncomfortable. We stopped eating here after the second day and left feeling like they could have done so much better.

Booked 2 walk out rooms with patios 9 months in advance. Upon arrival told us only one of those rooms was available. After much back and forth they said could accommodate with a balcony room for one night for free until that room was available next day. The other coupe took that room but found it had no balcony!! Tired from traveling they accepted it. Next day they were moved to the room they booked only to find a massive, noisy portable air conditioner blocking the patio door. It couldn’t get worse could it? It did. Dinner that night was the worst meal I’ve ever had. 2 hour wait for food was followed by cold, awful food. They apologized saying they were severely understaffed. We were served cold “American Wagu” that looked like it came from dollar tree. Sent it back but part 2 was even worse. The lobster risotto was half decent and when we told them that they obliged by promptly charging us for it despite ruining the whole meal. Woke up next day for an early breakfast before a guided trip positive that the worst was behind us. 2 orders of smoked trout with poached eggs cold again. It was getting embarrassing now. Finally the general manager is engaged but does little to solve anything apart from a few free drink tokens. We ate offsite mostly from there on. Our fishing guide Tanner was awesome and a highlight of our stay. The lobby is really nice with big windows and comfy chairs. The rooms are nice albeit very poorly lit. The wait staff tried their best and were very pleasant. The view and the grounds were amazing. I gave the 1 star for that but for $1000 per night per room we expected much more. Do better Sage!

We had the most memorable stay! Our room overlooking the pond and mountains was fantastic and the fireplace kept us toasty. The lobby with it's grand windows perfectly framing the mountains was the perfect place to sit and relax in the afternoon. Warm cider and fresh baked cookies every day at noon was a welcome treat. The grounds were beautiful and we were roughly 35 minutes to the entrance of Yellowstone. The drive to the park along the Yellowstone River was gorgeous. We highly recommend taking a Yellowstone guided tour with Sage Lodge. Garrett, our guide, was awesome. We learned a ton and he did a great job catering to our multi generational group. We will go back for sure!

We stayed here when is first opened and had a wonderful experience. It's a beautiful lodge with excellent accommodations and the dinning experience was excellent. With that said we were there for lunch on 05/14/24 and the dinning experience was extremely disappointing and it wasn't because they were busy. The hot pastrami sandwich was cold, the chicken sandwich was dry, the burger dry and poorly prepared and so on. There are so many restaurants in Livingston that make Sage Lodge cooking staff look like amateurs ... Fainting Goat, Neptune's, Campione, Livingston Bar & Grill, Pinky's to name a few.
