Park Plaza Histria Pula

We booked last minute into this hotel and we were so lucky to get a room. They were very accommodating at our late booking and the rooms were great. We had to leave early the next morning, they booked a taxi for us and made a bag lunch breakfast

Booked a TUI package deal inclu. half board to the Plaza Histria as a couple. Set in a peaceful location overlooking the sea on a peninsula 20 mind from Pula. We upgraded to a Superior Sea View - which was worthwhile- we were on the second floor we had a side view of the sea as the trees in the grounds were very tall. Easy transfer from Pula airport to the hotel complex - a few hotels on the peninsula all Arena which we think is Raddisson owned by the lool of the website. The indoor pool was very big - the outdoor pool was saltwater & we felt too small for the size of hotel. Limited terrace area for sunloungers but later in the week sunloungers appeared on the grassy banks. The buffet options were extensive and it would be easy to be carried away and indulge! Tap water is available at mealtime & saves on drinks bills. The gym area was reasonably equipped and well air-conditioned. No evening entertainment- which is great for us but if you need entertaining this hotel is not for you. Amazed at the numbers of guests smoking - as non smokers it hampered us sitting outside for meals as we'd rather not be eating and inhaling someone's exhaled smoke/vape. Perhaps the hotel could consider non smoking areas at the pool & outside restaurant areas for the comfort of non smokers. We've seen this in other hotels & it works well. Sadly there are the sunlounger hoggers who leave their towels on sunbeds and not appear all day! When there are limited sunloungers this isn't fair and the hotel should address this. I had read that towels after 45 mins left would be removed- we never saw this happen in the whole week we were there. The hotel is spotlessly clean and the cleaning staff work so hard. The reception staff we found very helpful despite some negative TA reviews- we had no problem at all they were lovely & welcoming. Yes we would return and hire a car as so much to see in the area. We enjoyed a boat trip to Rovinj & recommend visiting this beautiful place. The Pula town centre is easy to get to via the local bus at the end of the hotel road. Catch the 2 or 3A they run regularly. Croatia is a beautiful place and unspoilt - recommend the Histria if you want a quiet relaxing break. Would say this hotel is geared up for couples- not necessarily for young families. There are stony beaches beaches- bring beach shoes amd a snorkel & enjoy!

We didn't have a good start when we tried to book into this hotel . After having been up since 2.15am and arriving at after 11am we were rudely told to return at 2pm as rooms were not ready. When I said we would be sending a complaint to Tui our room was suddenly ready! Due to the start of the season most of the shops and areas were closed so there isn't a lot happening in the evening. After visiting Park Plaza Arena we found the bar much smaller and cosier. The staff were engaging and much friendlier that we went most evenings for a drink. The selection of food in the hotel is excellent but the hot buffet is warm at all times. Children should also be under control, especially when people are carrying hot tea and coffee back to their tables. Parents seemed to let them help themselves to the buffet and run around the dining room. The hotel and rooms are spotless and the hotel is in a beautiful location .
