This is not a 5-star property; it used to be. It is a 3* B&B at best. Definitely, the property needs some upgrades. It is aged and not very clean. Even though the staff were nice and polite, they did not wear uniforms and name tags, which made it hard to identify who was who, especially from a security standpoint. The room keys are just a standard lock and key, the door didn't even have a basic wishbone door guard! The plugs are away from the bed, making phone charging a challenge. The breakfast was a take it or leave it affair. You ate what was served with very few choices and considerations for guests' dietary needs and requirements. The area is lovely and safe.

The place is very central, clean,classy and their customer service is thee best. The guy is very helpful and kept on communicating with me and waited for me until after 10pm to check in.

I really cannot fault my night stay at Herbert Baker. I was on a visit to watch the rugby at the Loftus Versfeld and this was so much more enjoyable than staying in a city hotel. It is in a beautiful, secure estate and offers a really tranquil environment. Room was large, well appointed and spotlessly clean. Staff are wonderful and the breakfast good. Absolutely no complaints whatsoever.

I highly recommend 131 on Herbert Baker Boutique Hotel. The rooms are spacious, clean, and very comfortable. The staff are warm, courteous, and genuinely helpful with everything from check-in to local tips. Breakfast is hearty, and more than filling-a perfect start to the day. Great value, welcoming vibe, and everything exceeded expectations. I'd happily stay again!
