Albergo Orologio

Brescia|0.46km from Brescia Castle
I have been to Brescia once before and stayed in a fantastic boutique hotel, the Locanda Delle Mercanzie however it was fully booked and instead I stayed at the Albergo Orologio which is not that far away. This traditional styled hotel is in an excellent location wight in the heart of the centre of the old town and with a huge array of restaurants and bars within just a few seconds of walking! It’s also only a five or six minute walk with a wheeled bag from the Vittoria Metro station. Very convenient. Check-in was easy, the receptionist greeting with a smiling face, giving advice, telling you about the hotel etc. It always makes you feel better when you arrive at a hotel and the staff are so warm and friendly! I had booked a single room but ended up in a double room. Wifi was excellent, a fridge in the room, toiletries, plenty of plug points, air-conditioning (although turned off at this time of year), a TV, seat and desk, a small safe (passports and small items…too small for a laptop). The room and bathroom were very clean. The furniture was old but it suited the character of the hotel. Old style, almost boutique like. Breakfast was delicious. Superb coffee and made for you by the waitress. Buffet style cereals, yoghurts, breads and croissants, cake cold meats and cheese. Maybe not the greatest variety but it was all tasty and I enjoyed it. Overall I thought this hotel was quaint, it was convenient, it was clean, very well priced and the staff were friendly. I would definitely consider staying again if I return to Brescia.
Centro Paolo VI

Centro Paolo VI

Brescia|0.94km from Brescia Castle
I chose to stay at the Centro Paolo VI when I booked a trip to Italy at short notice, inspired by the good reviews on Trippadvisor. My experience was predominantly positive. Room was clean, with good air-conditioning. The furnishings were simple. The bed was, perhaps, a little too firm for my taste, and a bit low for a bloke with a bad knee. :-) Lighting in the bedroom might have been a bit brighter. The bathroom was clean, although, as mentioned by some other reviews, the shower was a bit tight. The building is a bit of a mixture. In part, it is a grand baroque palace, but other parts are much more functional. It has clearly been in institutional use for a long time. I gather that, before taking on its present function in 1975, it had been a seminary. It remains a church foundation, and functions mainly as a conference centre, offering meeting rooms for far more more people than it could accommodate overnight. Its lifts, as remarked in some less positive reviews, are decidedly old-fashioned but were perfectly adequate to get me and my luggage up and down, which is, after all, the only thing you need a lift to do. So far as food is concerned, breakfast was served in buffet style, with staff bringing coffee or tea to guests at their tables. Weather permitting, breakfast can be eaten outside in the garden. What was less helpful about the very obvious conference centre purpose was the situation about evening meals. For the first four evenings of my stay, I ate in the restaurant. Choice was a bit limited, but the food was tasty and served by a friendly waiter. On the fifth night, a Sunday, I cheerfully set off to the restaurant, only to find it closed. Not only is it always closed on Sundays, it was now closed for a summer break until 28 August! This is NOT notified on the web site, nor any any notice displayed in the building. This may make perfect sense for a conference centre in a period when nobody is arranging conferences, but is awkward for holiday accommodation. The building is in a quiet area, but is served by buses on neighbouring streets. Brescia's complex one-way system means that, for example, the 12 from the station stops one street away at the front, but the bus going towards the station stops a couple of streets to the rear. It is only about 5 minutes' walk to the biggest cultural site of the city, the Santa Giulia Museum, and other places of interest are within walking distance. Staff were invariably friendly and helpful. Incidentally, if you are going by car, booking directly with the institutions gets free parking in a safe, enclosed yard.

Hotel Igea
4.1/580 Reviews
I stayed at Hotel Igea in July 2022 and found it very difficult to find any fault. My room wasn't anything superior, just a normal room, but found it more than spacious, the bathroom was also very spacious. The curtains were very thick to ensure darkness when the sun comes up, large HD TV, mini-fridge which was very welcome in the climate and bed was comfy. The only negative sides about the hotel room was one or two areas of dust in high places which had clearly been continually missed and no bedside power sockets for charging devices. Staff were very friendly and professional, were more than happy to hold my luggage after checking out and the hotel restaurant is also an excellent standard with large, good quality portions. Very warm, friendly and welcoming atmosphere and a good value for money. If I return to Brescia, I would definitely stay here again.
Hotel Vittoria

I had a room with a dream view of the doom. The room and the bathroom I found relatively old. The air conditioning had not even much performance against the heat. The whole building worked inside like a time machine in the 1930s. But: All staff at the hotel were really very friendly and helpful. That was great class.
Hotel Della Volta

The rooms were very clean, tidy and the staff were smiling and happy to help. The check in was pretty quick, like the check out. The area where it's located is pretty convenient since there's a superstore almost next to it. Thank you for this amazing stay!

We stayed here because the other place we were at was completely unacceptable. When I called to check on a room, ”Enzo” took great care of us. He put us in a king suite. It was clean and every necessity was there. We were there in winter, so we didn't use either of the pools, but we did get a good meal at the attacked Indian restaurant. Thank you Enzo.
