resort reopened for 2 months. definitely not a 5 star for the level of attention to customer needs and services. they still have to improve in many things. young staff sometimes lacking in experience but very polite and helpful. lack of attention to cleanliness both in the common areas and in the rooms.

The resort is lovely - spread over a vast area of well manicured lush gardens; the buildings are low and parking is ample with solar reflectors acting as shade for parked cars. This is a relaxing place to be with several hang-out spots for all. The decor is simple yet stylish. Staff is mostly local and friendly. Our rooms were very well appointed with very comfortable beds and roomy bathrooms. The pool areas are large, clean and well-organised. Some serving staff were extremely friendly and helpful as were the domestic staff looking after our rooms. In the management department our special mention must go to a lovely lady named Linda. This is a gorgeous place to take a relaxing break.
Response from Property: Dear Guest, Thank you very much to have chosen Mangias Brucoli Sicily Autograph Collection by Marriott for your recent stay and for this wonderful comment we will certainly pass to our staff with pleasure. We are really glad you enjoyed the time spent with us and looking forward to welcome you back soon in our resort. Sincerely Tito Di Benedetto General Manager

Review We booked our stay a couple of months ago, and were a little worried after some of the reviews started appearing but needn’t have been! The resort is beautiful, amazing grounds, and lovely rooms which have recently been renovated. We had a swim up room which I’d definitely recommend. The hotel is quite remote so if you want to do sightseeing I would definitely recommend hiring a car. We did this as a package with our flights and it was really cheap. We went to Noto, Syracuse and Taormina - Taormina was our favourite and definitely worth the drive! Breakfast was good; plenty of food options, no wait at the egg station, lots of tables available. We had dinner at Donna Floriana and the Pizzeria, and lunch at Scausu Grill. These were all really good, lovely food and good service. The thing that lets it down slightly is Lime Bar, we had lunch here once, and drinks every evening. Service is slow, both waiting for someone to take your order and then for drinks to arrive, even though they seem to have plenty of staff around. The staff are all very friendly (and they make great cocktails!), the live music is good, and it is a really nice place to sit. Overall a lovely stay and I would recommend the hotel.

We just returned from a 2 week trip around Italy and this was by far our favorite hotel in our entire trip. The grounds are beautiful. To be honest, I was a bit nervous after reading some negative reviews but was pleasantly surprised with how beautiful the hotel grounds are kept. Check-in was pleasant, though a bit slow. I was nervous I was going to fall asleep on her! The front desk agent was lovely in going over all the amenities and resort offerings. Having flown all the way from Seattle, I just wanted to get to my room, shower and have some dinner. All of the restaurants on property require reservations, in exception of the buffet. We attempted to make reservations at all 4 of them, but they were fully committed for the evening. If their concierge can email guest prior to arrival and advise of that policy, I think it could save guests a lot of headaches and empty stomachs. Thankfully, we ordered room service, which served the same pizza from their pizzeria. My family had 3 rooms booked and we're all titanium so we all had breakfast included. Their breakfast buffet was probably the most impressive breakfast buffet I've experienced. I went through what I thought was the entire buffet, only to realize it was just half of it. Having extremely picky kids, the buffet proved to be a success. You must try their pistachio cannolis. The best I've ever had. All their pools are gorgeous. I do wish they stayed open past 7pm though. It didn't make sense they closed while the sun was still out. The hotel also doesn't have a convenience store so we had to drive into town to find large waters for our family and wine ;) I think adding a wine opener in the rooms would also make sense as we're in Italy. Would save us the hassle of having to stop by the front desk to have them open our bottle of wine so we could enjoy it on our patios. Lime Bar had strong, great drinks and prompt service. Our server did forget two meals but their manager (on a temporary assignment from Ritz Carlton Tenerife) was so pleasant and personal, we didn't mind. The manager would make his way around tables to check up on how things were going. We lost track of time chatting with him, by the time we realized we were missing two meals, everyone else had finished eating. If they could provide pool service, I believe that would also elevate the property. Out of all the hotels we stayed at in Europe, this hotel by far had the strongest AC. We've stayed at Ritz Carlton Berlin and St Regis Rome in the past, yet their AC does not compare to Mangia's. The only complaints I have were minor. Two out of three of our rooms had a moderate ant problem. The cracks under the door were wide enough for these large ants to make their way into our room. Thankfully, they're just ants so it was just a nuisance. Apparently Mangia's has a bunch of resorts in Sicily. Keeping my fingers crossed Marriott brings the rest of them onto the Marriott portfolio as we all truly loved our stay at Mangia's Brucoli!!!

This hotel is advertised as a luxurious 5 star resorts. Like lots of others, what we experienced was unfortunately far from this. We stayed at Mangias Brucoli as part of a longer trip travelling around Italy. We had stayed at mostly smaller, 3 or 4 star hotels but booked 4 nights at the 5 star Mangias Brucoli as a treat. One of the main reasons we chose this resort over others was the number of different restaurants available on site. (4 a la carte plus a buffet restaurant) Upon arrival we found that many of the food & beverage options weren’t actually open, or were only partially open I.e. just at lunchtime - there was no mention of this when booking even though we only booked 1 week in advance & booked directly. One of the restaurants which is not open at all is the Japanese restaurant which they don’t have staff for yet. In spite of this, during our stay, Mangias Brucoli were posting pictures on instagram saying the sushi bar ‘awaits you’. Myself & others commented to warn that it wasn’t open, however our comments were swiftly deleted! Of the food & beverage options that were open, we found the quality of the food to be quite poor. I wouldn’t say terrible, but of a lower standard than we experienced elsewhere in Italy & definitely not what you would expect in a 5 star hotel. The service was the main issue, it was absolutely dreadful. One day at lunchtime we waited 90 minutes for our meal to arrive after ordering. This wasn’t a one-off as we saw others with children who were giving up & leaving the restaurant as they couldn’t sit there waiting any longer. Even just getting a drink in the main bar was an ordeal, they didn’t appear to be short of staff but had a totally disfunctional set-up where only 1 person was actually making drinks. Again we saw lots of guests looking frustrated & leaving. We decided to leave early, and when we explained this to reception/ management they admitted they were aware of the service issues in the restaurants & bars. They blamed this on being newly opened. However this hotel has been open for months now, not days or weeks & Mangias/ Marriot being larger chains must obviously know how to go about opening a new hotel so I’m not totally convinced by this excuse. If they are going to cite this as a reason for facilities not being fully open it would be more honest to make people aware of this at the point of booking, & definitely not to engage in agressive marketing of restaurants that do not exist. In a hotel like this where you can’t walk to get food & drink externally, the facilities within the hotel are important but in this case they are sadly a long way from offering anything close to being adequate.

We had an absolutely amazing vacation at this property in Sicily. Everything about this property is five stars, the rooms, the service, the breakfast. The pools are extremely spacious and clean and there are lovely places on the sea to have a private swim.

Amazing value for Money. While it’s true that Mangia’s resort is considerably more affordable—about 75% less per night than club med for example—the service provided by the staff was equally excellent. The lunch offerings at the restaurants were on par with, if not superior to, those at the other resorts. Although Mangia’s might not have the same level of luxury as other 5 star hotels, it possesses its own unique charm and certainly deserves its 5-star status. It's different, but in a good way, especially considering the more accessible price point. Overall, we had a fantastic experience and look forward to returning. The reception staff, restaurant personnel, and all other team members exceeded our expectations with their amazing service. The only area that needs attention is the seaside arrangement. The loungers appear a bit disorganized and entrance to the sea is not great. Best regards,

Excellent hotel. Lovely pool and the hotel itself was beautifully laid out. Food was good especially the pizza restaurant. Great views over the bay with water taxi to nearest town though u have to pay for that. Staff excellent and so helpful. Loved it and cannot wait to go back

Stayed here for 6 days, part work, part leisure and it was absolutely fantastic. The grounds are spacious and well kept, the rooms are of a good size, and the cleaning of the room is great. There's padel courts, tennis courts, pools for the kids, grownups, and a quiet pool, and the beach, while rocky, is nice. The service is great as well, they make you feel right at home, from Beatrice, Giorgia, Fiona at reception, and Mario at night, to Carmelo, the amazing pizzaiolo, Giuseppe, Patrizia, Doriana, in the pizzeria, where they produce authentic works of art with the pizza, Morena at the Lime Bar, Momo and Nelia at Breakfast, and Gianna who almost looks like she's omnipresent! And I am sure I am forgetting some people! A recommendation would be to get a car, or be prepared to drop good money on taxis. You can also get a taxi from the hotel to Augusta train station and then trains to Siracusa, or Catania. I would definitely recommend the hotel and would definitely return.

I had a really nice stay at the Maggia’s. The place is beautiful. Lots of outdoor space including swimming pools, gardens and direct access to the sea. The interiors are decorated with style. The staff is specially friendly. The food was very good. Special thanks to Marco from the boutique for making me discover Gigong yoga and shiatsu massage! Just one thing: it’s very family / couple vibes. Not really the place to meet new people. Overall, I totally recommend this hotel for solo female travellers who simply want to rest in a high-end place, the Sicilian way 🇮🇹✨

We stayed at the resort for 5 nights with our 18 month old and overall really enjoyed the stay. The resort is spread out across a nice garden next to the sea. Our room was quite small but newly renovated and in very good condition. The bathroom was also very nice with a separate toilet and a rainshower. Breakfast offers a good selection, especially lots of cakes and pastries. On the downside, coffee was self service but there was a barista bar, although often with a queue. Eggs were not served at the table and sometimes a bit cold on the buffet. The pool area is very nice with a big main pool. There is also a separate kids pool and playground right next to it. While the hard product is good, there is upside potential in terms of service. The towel policy is a bit annoying: you only get one free towel per person per day, extra towels are being charged. Also, friendliness of staff was OK, but could be improved. At the end of our stay, we were not even asked whether we enjoyed our stay. Also, there was no recognition of my Marriott Bonvoy elite status.

The Mangias's Brucoli Resort, an Autograph Collection Hotel by Marriott, is the perfect place if you're looking for a truly authentic Italian vacation. Please don't be swayed by the negative reviews. Yes, the hotel still faces some challenges, but the friendliness of the staff is great and the resort is really beautiful! The staff is absolutely doing an amazing job! As the resort is, thankfully, in a quiet area, a rental car is perfect for exploring the beautiful places on the east coast. Thank you for an unforgettable stay!
